Hello, can you grow quality weed by combining window sill lighting/less hours of LED lighting? This in order to save on energy costs.

If the plant has to be moved everyday from the window to the LED place does that stress the plant or something?

If growing through window sill I've heard many people saying it works just fine but yields less but will the quality of the product be good?

I grow indoors with sunshine...works well as long as you are not worried about the neighbours
This year I supplemented the gals with several hours a day of CFL/LED bulbs, which I believe helped
So it does not stress them to go back and forth from sunlight to artificial lights

Awesome, and did you have good results with indoors sunshine alone in the past? In which city do you live in?

Your wrong i seen it done first hand
I agree with hot rod in that putting an illegal plant in your window sill is a bit of a flag (Either law or criminal)...Especially if the light bulbs are hung right there with the plant (Turning on before sunrise and off after is going to draw a lot of attention). But will it grow? Of course. Light leaks during lights off time, and a regular schedule for the plant are pretty important for product outcome. messing with that stuff can cause hermi's. So possible, yes, recommended...probably not

No, now I want to go window sill only, and I've been thinking about the neighbors but here in Czech Republic that issue is very not an issue, the most I can get fined is $600 for 5 plants but I want to start with 2 and I've been looking outside the window and the only way my neighbors could distinguish a marijuana plant is by using binoculars, I just have to move them away from the electric lights at night and the issue is resolved.

If you have duel pane windows & an east & West facing window you don't need lights. If it's darker in the house you can't see in the window unless you are up close. The results are better than a CFL ,the plants don't get to big but the buds are nice and tight

I have dual pane windows facing the South here in Czech Republic and receive a lot of light, when I moved here my landlord said "the apartment faces south so you should receive plenty of light/heat"

Some people are not comfortable growing in an open environment such as a window or balcony, everyone's situation differs.....but the times are changing, and eventually we will be able to grow a few pot plants, no different than tomatoes.

I'm half way up a high rise apartment in the middle of a concrete jungle, surrounded by a dozen apartment buildings, so very likely several people have seen my plants but I think that most wouldn't recognize them from their distance, plus I have a few house-plants/flowers to provide some camouflage.

I have a medical card, but not grower's licence.....the police target organized gangs and other criminal elements, nobody gives a rat's ass about someone growing a few MJ plants.

Almost sounds like a greenhouse :)

What about the smell? I created a post about growing low odor strains and was planning to use some ONA or something but people say a grow tent with fans and filter is a must or otherwise it will stink. What's your view on that?

I can shit and eat a sandwich at the same time, it doesn't mean I would recommend it or do it.
It also doesn't mean anything else. If this is what you have to work with, just go for it.

personally I don't consider the smell to be stink but rather the fragrance of a growing plant that smells much nicer than my dirty socks.

I keep the windows open all the time, not too many plants (1 to 3) and avoid stinkers such as skunk strains.

I keep a small jar of Ona near the door and a tin of febreze for that unexpected knock on the door.

I never had a single complaint or concern about growing pot, but have had several formal complaints when I smoked cigars/cigarettes, my neighbours are as happy as pigs in shit since I quit tobacco

That's what I was telling everyone in my post and they said it would stink no matter what. I was planning to use 2 low odor plants: Durban Poison and Blue Berry.
Do you think that if I keep a bottle of ONA and put incenses when people come to meditate to my place they will not be sure it is marijuana ?

not really....when people enter your home the smell will likely be noticeable

Sorry if I'm repeating I tried to skim every response at least! :)

You can put those window clings up to make the glass distort so you can't see what's there but still lets the all the light in...

As to the fragrance, auto flowers don't smell much, they aren't going to be that big so if you move em out of the room I'm sure you'll be fine. I like the ONA idea and also, Glade sells cheap motion sensor smells, put two in the room and blast your guest with those, i'm sure they'll love it. ROFL ;)

Seems to me the dirt smell will be smellier than the pot smell from a couple lil girls. But maybe after 2 decades of cancer sticks maybe my sense of smell has gone. lol
