Day 18. Things still looking good. The plant sure is staying squat and starting to branch out.

Hopefully this is signs for the faster flowering Indica phenotype.

I Will be upping nitrogen in the next few days and probably start 12/12 in 10 days or so.

By the way, she's a stinker already in veg. Wonder how she'll carry over into flowering.

Quick update. Just topped her at day 21 at the 5th node.

Here she is at the beginning of day 22. Looking good and I can't believe how much she stinks for a vegging plant.

Probably start 12/12 in a week or so. Also, just started germinating a C99 from Female Seeds which I am really excited for (crossing fingers for awesome pineapple pheno)

I grow hempy style with perlite in the res and the medium is a 70/30 mixture of perlite and coco.

I use the complete gh floranova expert drain to waste lineup with reverse osmosis water.

I do add some cal/mag on my plain water feedings as well.

The great thing about this setup is I can get a huge $20 bag of perlite and a $20 bag of botanicaire coco and they last me a long time using them together.

Here she is at Day 25 still doing great. Really pleased with the vegging results under solely 2700K LEDs.

Scrog screen is in place and she has responded well to the fimming. Should have lots of tops. Starting to see signs of female sex glands, so pistols should show quickly when switched to 12/12 if not sooner.

The little one on the bottom right is a C99 from Female Seeds. She just broke ground late last night.

thx for the info. is it growing faster with that hempy style than in normal soil or whats your reasoning behind it?

Oh yeah. Hempy buckets blow soil out of the water. It's passive hydroponics. You can never over water and it's practically dummy proof.

I've been growing for years and use RO water with the complete floranova line, so I know how much pH UP I need to add when I put in my nutes, so all I do is just measure them out and add water.

GH has good feeding schedules that are easy to follow

I do have a pH and EC meter of course, but I really use them more to check my run-off in later stages.

Thanks. I'll probably be making the switch to 12/12 this Friday, which would be day 29 of veg.

I'll give them one more big veg feeding today, then a rinse on Thursday, and then start my flowering feeding schedule on Friday.

This is the schedule I follow

bb, since you have so much experience...i mean i could ask in the newb section but id rather ask you...my soil grow at same Age is much smaller :-( how much time does dwc or hempy save you? I read that "dwc" tastes not as good as soil, is that true in your opinion, also r there other downsides? And is it by any Stretch possible to use my "soil" grow and Bloom biobizz nutes for hempy? or is that too organic?

Well, I've never grown full organic, so I can't really compare on tastes, but I always flush my mediums well so the plants use up their nutes and I get nothing but high regards on my meds.

Also, flushing with the hempy buckets is painless and I just use a wet vac to suck up the water in my tray and I flush till my runoff gets to minimal ppm.

I also use the GH floranectar line (mollasses works just as well), which helps bring out the complex aromas.

As for hempy buckets, I don't see any problem using an organic nute line, however you'll want to change your medium to something along the lines of perlite + coco/vermiculite and use a ratio of 70/30 of perlite/coco or perlite/vermiculite.

Using soil in the hempy buckets is not a good idea. I'll see if I can track down the exact reason for that.

Some people even run 100% perlite, but I find that a little more troublesome.

You can also go all coco, but I feel that gets pricey and I think coco retains too much salt in the medium if you aren't careful.

Another great thing about the hempy buckets are you can use a much smaller size pot and can use just about anything that will hold water that you can poke a hole in.

A 2-3 gallon hempy bucket will do just as well as a 5 gallon soil plant.

I picked up my black tubs from the dollar store.

This is a great thread that will give you all the info you need

Switching the lights back tonight and am gonna take 2 clones just in case she's a keeper. She is ready to go into flower (pistols starting to show on some branches) and the screen is filling in nicely. Super-cropped her in a few places as well to help even out the canopy and of course make for some nice big buds with the bigger rebuilt stems.

Will post pics later when I get home.

Finally glad to start 12/12 :-)
