DAY 17

I have been adjusting the ph every day! I adjust it to 5.5 and 24 hours later it is at 6.4, I need a bigger res or set-up or something. Crimea Blue is doing great, Trainwreck.....not so great. I think the light was too close. Now, I moved the light up, also from now on I will grow my mothers in soil and grow from clone. This is my first hydro, but I think having mothers in soil then taking the cuttings and putting them in my aero cloner would be a hell of alot easier to start.

Those older leaves on the Twreck will be nothing to frown about soon, The newest ones coming up look great, so whatever you are doing now its working.

she is growing, she should be showing roots any day now. I will post new pics on Sunday. With all the ph down I've put in I Need a bigger res, I just might do that this weekend.

I am still having to adjust the ph--pretty much daily. Crimea Blue is doing awesome, I poured water over trainwreck yesterday to try to kick start her. I think it worked, she is showing roots today and looks on the road to recovery. I changed the res and gave T-wreck more water on top. I am keeping the ppm still around 250 with a few drops of rooting hormone. Next week I will up the nutes. I will try to keep the ph around 5.8-6.0, as I said it raises everyday. If I can keep them alive long enough to take cuttings I will be happy. I have also started 3 new mothers in soil--just in case. 1-C.B.,1-Trainwreck,1-Violator Kush.I will start all mothers in soil from now on.

PH being upwardly mobile can be the first sign of bad microorganisms.

I'm definitely not an expert myself, as my last grow was my first hydro experience, but when I had upwardly mobile PH, it ended up being caused primarily by algae. Adding BioCat cleared it up for me.

hey dozer, I think you may be right. there was a slight slime on the air hose last time I changed the res, the res temp was also around 75f. I have alot of D.O. that I thought was keeping algae at bay....Damn! I have drilled holes in the top buckets for the water farm. I NOW am going to make another res & controller unit for the waterfarm, that way I can have 3 buckets in veg and 3 in flower closet. I won't have to worry about this DWC! It is a pain in my ass!

Hey Caddy,

Sounds like you have yourself a plan. If you buy the GH reservoir and Controller(I think it's called the 8 unit upgrade or something) adding cutoff valves will make your life a lot easier in the event you need emergency maintenance or something.

yes,yes....I took notes with all the mods you recomended, I will definitly add the cut-off valve for the res/controller, probably on each bucket too. I am going to make another res/controller unit, I have totes,the left over fittings and tubing, I just need a $5 float valve.

I like it. It is constant and time consuming learning and finding the right system and shit like that. To make matters worst this grow is at a different location and I can't keep a 24/7 eye on them that I would like to. I am not going to use the DWC after I take cuttings from these plants.Too many problems, I should'nt have bought THIS dwc. I have a aero cloning station and GH waterfarm 8 bucket system I will use instead. there are some nice DIY aero systems in riu. Earl and Hatch have it locked down. Nutes were and still are alot of studying! I was going to keep it simple with just the flora series but I added rooting hormone because I felt comfortable doing it after all I read. Last thing I want is to hurt my babies! I am changing the res tomarrow and upping the ppm.....I will post pics.

HATCH!!! I am kinda leary of upping the nutes, know I'm thinking CB could take it but not T-wreck ATM, they are still young. they are doing good though, roots look hella nice, I think I'll wait a lil bit til TW grows some more. I'll see how they look tomarrow. let me say I am impressed with CB, the growth on her is very good. The 10 growth from day 13 to day 23 is awsome.
