Crispy Leaves - pics included

Hi..

I've been cruising the forums and looking at all of the help docs in the GrowFAQ but I'm still nervous. Please take a look and tell me what you think... I'm using an organic fertilizer and giving around 3.7ml of fert per liter of water just to try and correct the problem. Correct approach? Any thoughts would be great :peace:

Stop giving ferts. Check the ph of your soil runoff....those poor things like SICK.

Correct the ph of your soil and your water (ph should be between 6.2 -6.8) then flush the plants to rid the soil of excess salts.

Good luck.....

Well you may get away with 7....but are you talking about the ph of your water or the ph of your soil runoff? The soil ph is much more critical....and I have a feeling yours is off and has been for awhile. Either that or you just have too much fert salts sitting in your soil and it's causing lockouts (which abnormal ph can do as well).

Either way flush your plant heavily with ph correct water...then check runoff (should be the same as the ph of the water going on by the time you are finished) then water with a WEAK fert solution (check ph.....)

Good luck.

I JUST looked at my post...sorry about the the ph thing... the line should read
correct ph for soil 6.2-6.8. 7 is not far off so I don't think you are bad there. If your soil runoff ph is 7....I would find that just a touch high....but not horribly so. Aim for 6.5 ;)

I just flushed them out about 2 or 3 weeks ago... I have been using a probe type ph/moisture meter to check the soil. It is at 7 - I've just been using my tap water, which generally has a ph of 7.1. Should I flush or just lower the ph?

My you really ARE having some problems aren't you? You flushed two weeks ago....

I would lower your water to a ph of 6.0 to try and reach a middle ground with the ph of your soil.

Give them one small (ph correct) dose of ferts if you flushed and are sure you flushed out your old fert salts in your last flush. (say fast three times :))

I'd continue to ph your water at 6 until your soil runoff reads 6.5.

Ok, I flushed them last night. I put ph corrected water in at 6.3, they seem to respond well immediately. Looking more vibrant, hopefully those blemishes on the leaves will disappear - or not show up again. Thanks for the help, I'll post again in a week or so to give a progress report :peace:
