HERE IS WHAT I HAVE DESIGNED.
THE BOX DIMENSIONS ARE 16 DEEP X 25 WIDE X 36 TALL.
THE TWO GREEN BLOCKS ARE 70CFM PC FANS. USED FOR AIR MOVEMENT.
THE TWO RED BLOCKS ARE 110CFM PC FANS. USE FOR HOT AIR EXTRACTION.
THE CONTAINER IS A 3.5 GALLON BUCKET.
THE HEART OF THIS OP IS A 70W HPS LIGHT AND 4 26W 6000K CFLS.
I AM FIXED ON THE DIMENSIONS BUT IF YOU GUYS HAVE ANY THOUGHTS PLEASE POST THEM HERE. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR WHAT YOU GUYS WOULD DO WITH THIS SMALL SPACE AND STEALTH REQUIREMENTS.

Well I am not sure if it will work. But it is what I have to work with. That is not a DWC it will be soil. I may have to do somthing to keep the height of the plant(s) down.

It'll probably work for awhile but I know you're going to do all the good shit to your plant and it's not going to be long before it's going to be in the light. If you tie it over it'll go awhile longer but eventually the lower limbs (buds/colas) are going to be up in the light. If you can get a bit more width and/or depth you'll have a decent chance latter in the grow. If not you better try to go with flouros all the way and keep the heat down.

good start, but you need a gallon of container for every foot of growth you want. so you dont need a 3.5 gallon pot since your space is 36 inches tall your plant obviously cant be rooted into the bottom of ur box and then grow all the way past the light. i would go with a 2 gallon. so say ur pot is 10 inches up off the ground ur down to 26 inches of growth. if your using a hid light in that small of space the closest your plants can get to that light is AT MOST 6 inches away and thats praying it doesnt burn the tips. so subtracting that your left with 20 inches of growth u can manage and thats not including the heighth of the light in the box. i would go with a scrog so you can accomadate a plant in that small of space. so it can grow horizontal instead of vertical.

thats my 2 cents. hope this helps and good luck.

another thought would be to put the HID outside the box. It might defeat the purpose if it's stealth but I have seen people put the light outside the box with an opening up top for the light to reach plants. Either that or just make it a little taller if you could. Unless you really know how to trim your gonna get frustrated. A Scrog is good too but requires a little more thought for you. Not sure how many grows you've already done. I like it though good idea and you definitely thought it out pretty well, just figure out the light and you're set.

Sorry I see it's a 70watt HPS, not sure how hot they get, how hot do they get? You might not need to do much of anything as long as the 70 watt isn't too hot.

I'm new to all this but IMO like everyone else I think that may work for a little while and with plant training even longer but overall probably not big enough for start to finish. Also I use the same CFL's they put out 1600 lumes each so while more light is better and all that I would think that small space is gonna heat up uncontrollably with a HPS and 4 CFL's. I am using 10 CFL's in a space about 8' X 8' and it raises the temp in there about 10 to 15 F with a 16" oscillating fan placed at the entry to the room. Also I have never attempted to make a stealth set up but I would imagine that cutting out the sides so that the green fans blow in and the red blow out would give you a lot better air flow then just having the green fans blowing the air inside around. If that was what you were going for sorry it didn't really look like it to me. Good luck

I never thought of going with a smaller container.LOL. My 3.5 gal bucket is 10" tall. The light and reflector is 6" high. So that leaves me with 14" of height for plant material. (If I can't get the light closer to the plant then 6") I will def train the plant(s).

Gygax If I really have too I can add up too 1ft of vertical space. I would like to SCROG but I am working from seed and do not know the sex. It would be difficult to properly train the plant if I have to start the flower period before adding the screen. I do not have an extra space to place a clone for sexing. I have one grow under my belt. From my experience with the 70w it appears to run cooler than a 42w 2700K CFL. My room temps went down 4 degrees changing from 2 42w cfls to one 70w hps. I know I lost 14 watts but i gained about 5000 more lumens and the temp went down not up like i thought it would.

GrowItGreen What size CFLs are you running? I found that the 26w run much coller then the 42w and I could fit them closer to the plants and a lot more in the room. 10-15 degrees is a lot I would think for CFLs in an 8X8 cell. I would like to cut holes in the side to alow the green fans to pull in fresh air. Unfortunatly I can not cut the side or back walls.

Please keep the suggestions and questions comming. I want to try and get the most I can out of this room without lossing my stealth. I have tried doing DWC but the noise from the bucket will resonate through the walls and in too the joining rooms.

Cool, I wasn't sure about the heat of the HPS. Sounds good, yeah scrogs from seed can be a pain in the rear. Are you going to do a journal? What strains you habe lined up?

Good luck with everything friend.

Well I think I said room temp which is actually wrong, I run 8 26w CFL's and 2 on the side and 10-15 degrees higher is actually the temp at my plants under the lights and that is Fahrenheit not Celsius. The room temp is much less, sorry.

I have not yet decided if i am going to do a journal. I have some WW and NL seeds from Nirvana. A friend needs to get rid of one of his plants he says it is ThaiIndo. I am thinking of taking his plant. It is still not confirmed female so it will be a gamble, but I dont have to go through the veg process this time. I have not heard of ThaiIndo. Dose anyone have any info on this strain? I still have a few more things to do to complete my room. It should be ready be next week. Keep the suggestions comming. I am willing to make some design changes where possible.

hummm thread kinda died. i guess my setup is the best it can be. No one has been able to tell me what would improve this room except for billybob who told me to go smaller on the containers. I have taken his advice and i am looking in to 8.5 inch square pots.

from what i can see, it looks like ur supplemental lighting might get in the way of the plants growing up. if you want side lighting in the box i would go with some 2 foot floro tubes. they dont take up much space and can be easily hung on the sides of the walls.

I will take that in to consideration. I will need to find some 2footers. What type would you recomend? IE T8 T12 spectrum.

Thanks,
KM
