Crossing strains

I posted this in the General Sections since more people read that but maybe someone here will reply faster.

I have 2 Mental Floss males in flowering for about 5 or 6 days. They are growing balls quickly. I want to cross these with White Widow.

1) On average how long does it take for these males to be ready for me to collect pollon?

2) I read that females should be pollinated 4 weeks before they are ready for harvest. Is there any downside if they are pollinated sooner? Say, 6 weeks?

I did what was said in this thread and it worked out for me. Just watch them. When they start to turn yellow in color then cut the pollin sack off. Put it into a pill jar or small glass jar. Then break them open inside the jar. I collected several pollin sacks and tapped the small gass jar they were in on the table after I broke them open in the jar. I did this for a couple of days. Then removed the pollin sacks leaving the pollin inside the jar. Then at that time I would collect more pollin sacks and repeat the process.

That pollen will travel and hang around forever, so be maticulous when handling that shit!

Yes that is true. Thats why when I collected mine I removed it from the room where it was growing. I do have a fully pollinated female in there too at this time. I know there is pollin in that grow area, but i still removed it to kinda limit the amount being in that grow area. I plan on storing this pollin for a later time and before I grow any more plants in that area I will be bleaching the shit out of it to try and clean it up and kill what ever maybe lingering around.


You should take a shower and wash up good. Change your cloths and everything befoe handling any females you don't want pollinated.
