25-40 a pack is cheaper but at least you don’t waste time on the unknown fallen soldiers but alas glo is history. Ever since he stated the s1s aren’t as good as originals, I’ve seen folks unloading them way cheaper than his website, just sayin.
I think what he said is that there is 40 to 50 percent junk in the s1 seeds. And then you have some stuff that tends to be like the parents. But you also have a chance to find something better than the original. That being said,I still stick to his hybrids. For now.

Would someone help me understand the S1 definition differences you have been talking about? I don't want to waste time feminizing incorrectly and having to hunt dozens to find a good one. I haven't got space for hunting.

If I grow a regular girl and reverse it, do I want to use her pollen to pollinate her remaining girl flowers? Or do I want to use her pollen to pollinate a female from the same pack of regs, which then is probably her sister? Would these both be called S1? Is there any difference? Does one result in less of a hunt than the other?

Or would I get better results dropping her feminized pollen on another strain alltogether that I think is good? Then it's not a F1 or a S1 so what is it called? My wish is to create some fems for myself in the best way so that all the seeds will be nice plants and so I don't have to sex plants or make clones.

S1 would be a reversed female pollinated to herself, either remaining flowers, or flowering cuts you took of her. The key is "self" which is where the S in S1 comes from.

If you pollinate an unrelated female, then I guess you would call it a F1, it just happens to be feminized.

If you pollinate one of her sisters, I'm not sure what that's called. R1 maybe? Genetically speaking it would be most similar to making F2's.

It is my understanding that you would have much more luck with a sister than an s1. And it would be dependent on how worked the cultivar was. If it is already pretty stable, an s1 wouldn't be too large of a search. But Nspecta has said on multiple occasions now that hybrid are better to grow for just personal flower. But you can find some magic worth breeding with in s1 seeds. It is a search however. If it were me, I would do small plants and do both. If you are reversing one plant, you probably want to put it on more than just one other plant, so pollinate both the sis and itself. Also , I am by no means an expert, sooo.... grain of salt and such.

Nspecta did this with his Ofp. Crossed a selection he made to T1000. He called it an F2(R). But I think we are, at least in the cannabis world, making it up a bit as we go. :)

We grew out a # of of the Mendo S1 . They are old school complex & delicious for flavors . Not crazy potent as stated by Caleb but Super fast finish with beautiful flowers. We had one that was done in 38days no BS ! It could have been picked at 35 ! Most are ready by day 50 . Tried to save the 35 day pheno for regeneration but no luck…. These cross out very well as the flavors carry through when crossed to a more potent strain . All his Mendo crosses are excellent as have tried quite a few of them and were super pleased as we have a pretty high bar.
The Obama kush (mendo purps x bubba) finishes fast too but not that fast! Amazing flavor, and also not super super potent but it is good. It was done at the end of September in my buddy’s outdoor garden

In the second part of The Pot Cast Caleb said there is a lot of licorice in the Purps S1. I'm glad I didn't score seeds. I have not read that or heard anyone say that before about the Purps.

Strawberry Cough S1 would be a great line to go through for anyone who likes the strain. I reversed the clone years back and found some really nice plants. The chap I gave the line to still runs different phenos to this day. One smells like super glue and tastes like house paint smells. Wicked shit
