Curing/Jar question??

Now when I put into the jar, a I filling the jar up to where the bud is packed or am i leaving some room so the bud can breathe?....I tried a grow last year and my bud was all spongy like and was horrible and smelled like hay, so I'm trying to get this right!

You want some room in there, so when you burp the jar, air can circulate.. Although im sure you CAN fill it up to capacity, but be ready to empty the jar out during the 2 hours a day you are burping the jar

i go about 3/4 full lightly packed.

Leave some room at the top of each jar so the nugs arn't crammed together, " keep em nice and fluffy". when you burp the jars each day give each jar a little shake or flip so the nugs circulate from bottom to top or vice versa

I think Budlover13 said it perfectly.

And the hay smell was from not letting them cure long enough. we all get the hay smell but it shouldn't stay.

I just put my bud in jars 3 days ago and
Only "burped" them once 2 days ago because I have been gone but on my way home now I'm worried they will get mold. Do you think it will mold since it's been closed in the jar for over 50 hours. I'm worried it's been bothering me.

how long were they hanging and drying for? were they dry to touch?

Don't know if ur talkin to me or the OP but they were hangin for 5 days they were realllllly dry then just being in the jar they were moist as hell and I'm worried they will mold since I haven't burped in over 2 days. But I'll be at the crib in 30 min guess I'll find out

it was really dry you may not have mold but definitely dump out your nugs and let them breath for 2 - 3 hours.

that hay smell is normal.. the longer you cure them / burp them you will notice it go away.. im currently on my 6th day of burping and the hay smell is JUST now leaving..

the hay smell doesnt change the smoke tho, i let my friends "sample" the fresh harvest, gave them a gram to try and give me a consumers smoke report, and one of my friends passed out immediately.. he only had enough energy to give me a thumbs up..lol
