Curing necessary for making edibles?

I prefer edibles and homemade edibles is the cheapest of course. Does curing, or more importantly not curing, affect the efficacy?

I don't think the taste is as important with edibles as it is with smoking but if others believe otherwise, then I trust their judgment I have made canna creamer with multiple strains and I didn't notice a taste difference.

Hey there @NorthernHuntingMom Welcome to RIU! It's a great question that you ask. I have been making my own canna coconut oil for about 5 years now. I have used 1 year old cured in Mason jar buds for batches and I've used fresh off the drying line buds along with the sugar trim always. I always do 21-28 grams decarbed at 235-245 for 38 minutes per 14 liquid ounce of coconut oil. After probably 50 or more of those batches I can honestly say that there is Not really any difference in efficacy or affect, between fresh or cured bud. What is Most Important is that it is decarboxulated properly!! I just made a batch outta an autoflower and sugar leaves from a freshly harvested ak bean brains strain, and it kills my pain and inflammation and makes me sleep like a baby..

Sure thing! I guess I failed to mention the rest of the easy process. So after decarbed bud cools down in the tin foil sealed pyrex baking pan. Make sure it cools down completely, that allows all the volatile Terpenes to settle back into the material That's A Very Important step also. I use a hot water bath of a 5 quart stovetop pot on the stovetop at water that's 160-180 degrees Fahrenheit. I put my decarbed weed in a smaller quart sized Mason jar with 14 liquid ounce of coconut oil. Seal lid led soak in double water bath for about 3-4 hours. Shake it every 45 mins or so. Take lid off once or twice to release heat pressure buildup. Let cool. Strain through cheesecloth and metal strainer. Filter again through cheesecloth into final container! JM2C here's my last batch outta the fridge and after it liquified for a bit, 1 level teaspoon is all I needs :weed:

Tks

A friend gave me a peppermint patty from her amazing homegrown. An oz of decarb in a cup of coconut oil in a slow cooker for 5 hours. Let it cool completely in the fridge then add enough icing sugar and a teaspoon of peppermint extract to make a really stiff dough. Roll into flattened balls, freeze then dip in dark chocolate.

I don't know how many peppermint patties she made but I will make them a little smaller. One was a perfect dose between medicinal and recreational for myself but I most often need a medicinal dose.

So one teaspoon per brownie mix and not the whole jar-just kidding. I would have thought say brownie May call for half cup of butter you would just substitute the half cup butter for half cup magic butter
I mean I just take 1 level Teaspoon kitchen measure spoon per dose of straight up canna oil. Which is equal to 5 millilitres I believe. Maybe a quarter-half cup of canna oil to a whole batch of brownies mix.

For edibles, I say curing is unimportant but decarbing is.

Been making my own infused MCT oil for years and have done it with cured, dried but uncured and even decarbed fresh flower right after harvest. It never really made any kind of difference.
