Curing

I get my buds to the point they are ready to use or sell or wherever they go, if i jar then they stay that way and i can reach in and smoke some at anytime and it is just as i it was when i put it in.

Make a stable product in the dry then simply store it and it will stay stable.

The confusion comes because everyone wants some god like amazing bud and thinks refining every thing by jarring moisture releasing buds and trying to over compensate for that moisture is the only way. This created a myth about overdried bud and how you need to jar it early or it is shit. Then came boveda a cult dedicated to air humidity but without really understanding it and how you stabalize bud before jarring. The history goes on and those who just hang dry till its a great product to smoke are the last you ever hear from in the grand scheme of things.

Follow what you feels best but you can always just dry till its ready then it will jar with no problems and then work your way through the other refinenents.

It is total co fusion because they all say something different. But the buds feel dry and the stem still has some bend to it before it snaps so I’m assuming that’s enough moisture in them. I know for a fact I won’t get mold atleast lol

Dude you are the second person that has told me that. My buddy (a long time grower) does the same thing as you and his stuff is always top shelf. He recently dried his crop for 17 days then started the cure. None of that Rh bullshit gets used with his curing process either just the correct Rh and temps for drying. I think they do just over complicate things a bit. So you also believe curing happens regarless of the jars rh right?

Why would air humidity be an issue, certainly in the dry bud just needs air currents to carry moisture away and if bud dries in a week obviously thats about right so why check temps when simple experience is a lot more valuable.

Id be happy hanging bud 17 days, it will smoke amazing right of that dried branch. In a recent thread a lot agreed that they just hang for a while and shits ready to go no jarring.

Glad to know my crop is ruined then. Good to know People online do over complicate this then for sure. I’ll continue with my cure a lot less stressfully now.

I doubt its ruined, im sure it will be fine too. Most ways will work but some are more error ridden and some are simple almost no fail.

This is my second time growing but the first was an absolute fail since vegging so I don’t count that one. All the mixed answers had me sweating. What’s your drying and curing process if you don’t mind me asking.

I just cut a small plant down today, trim all leaf to bud and hang on branches a couple weeks in a room that gets at least some air exchange or ventilation and isnt cold but not hot either.

After a week ill start smoking samples and taste its flavour come through then ill jar whats left at two weeks in a tupperware tub where it will quickly dissapear to me smoking it over the next three weeks.

Dont cure sorry just store it once dry and tasty at a couple weeks. Im not a big grower more just my own supply which saves me spending stupid money at my dealers.

I like a dry product not moist or sticky, sometimes my dealer sells me something slightly moist and let me say you get about half the size of dry stuff and it never lasts or smokes well.
