Hello kind of an odd one. I found my dads old stash from no sooner then the early 80’s. Most likely older then that maybe the late 70s not entirely sure when my pops stopped smoking exactly as my family isn’t very open about that kind of stuff.

mostly I’m interested in the seeds I found, a handful are mature and viable just wanted some input in germinating old seeds! If I can get them germinated I’ll try and Keep the genetics around and see what they shake out happily.2623BC67-D67A-4685-AA8A-707E08936EDB.jpeg

If they weren't stored in an attic or other hot environment, you have a decent chance of getting some to germinate.

I've germinated some from the early 90s I found in an old film cannister. They were in a toolbox in the basement.

Roughly 1/3 germinated in 4-5 days, not great, not bad

The best thing to try is h2o2 with old seeds. You just need to put 30 ml of 3% h202 into 500 ml water and soak the seeds for 12-24 hrs, Then plant them direct to your media and not too deep. Keep them at a stable, warm temperature 80 deg is perfect. Moist not wet. Not sure how much germination experience you have, so this is a good guide for the rest https://www.mandalaseeds.com/Guides/Germination-Guide Good luck and keep us updated on these seeds!

i think i read somewhere that a 1% solution soak for a bit works best. so like a tablespoon of h2o2 with 2 tablespoons water

Your biggest enemy growing is time. Don't waste time on mystery seeds, 5 months is a long time to spend on a gamble
