And if you spend that much time with them you are actually increasing the Co2 levels to the appropriate PPM thus boostin your babies up!!!

i figure tip doubling means they are twice as good!

i did not have any problems to start with but i accumulates the salt's and other stuff, and then your ph goes out the window and all hell breaks lose, i think this was my biggest mistake on my first grow but don't take my word for it ask around

theres another tip don't trust everything you read even if it sounds right just have a check, google it or search the forums

Well, i'm in 10" pots and i watered my one plant about a half a gallon tonight?

my tip is research everything,before you spend too much money....decide how much you are gonna grow,then get what you need...or if you are space limited,consider a micro grow

i know this might help some uk growers i don't know if it applies to our US brethren.

but when you go into the flowering cycle it's a good idea to set the timers for the lights to come on during the night(i.e lights on 8pm lights off 8am) not the day, there are two reasons for this, ONE its cooler at night so easier to keep the grow room cool and TWO its cheaper to run at night (off peak electric)

before building any system or planning a grow room consider the following...
is it near drains and a source of water?
can the climate be controlled or is it hot in the summer and cold in the winter?
can it be kept clean and free of dirt and bugs?
can it be kept secure and light-tight, and free from prying eyes?
is fresh air accessible?
is fire/water proof?

After building your grow room/box/area - run it a few days with no plants and monitor the temperature, humidity, etc.. and work out any issues before introducing any plants.

Keep a charged, up-to-date, easily accessible and properly rated fire extinguisher nearby and be versed in its use.

i am glad i did this with my first micro flower tank... i made an Easy Bake oven, not a grow room

Exactly what I had in mind here!!!!!

I have noticed that we haven't had many questions here...in my eyes,that means you are all doing a great job...and that you know your stuff.I just want to let you guys know that it is appreciated,by myself,and all the other growers who bother to read it...I learn something new everyday

water temperature is important for happy plants.

i think that hydro systems like the water to be kept chilled but i am not a hydro guy.. just pointing out that my following advice does NOT apply to hydro.

in a soil grow, the water temperature should match the grow environment's temp so as not to shock the roots.

an easy way to do this is to store your water jugs in your grow area. if you are growing organic you want the chlorine to leach off anyway so the water should stand. the temp of the room will keep the water pretty close to ambient temps.

of course, be careful... you are storing water in an electrical area.

minor note on this... dont get too ahead of yourself and stock too much water. stagnant water has no oxygen. you want to rotate your water.

this is a rant, so i figure i will just toss it in after the real tip...

do not worry about the yield of your first grow! there is no telling what you will get and odds alone say you wont get anything at all because you wont make it to harvest.

as a virgin grower just work at getting through it with everyone alive and be happy if you get a joint for your trouble.

if you get your head gear cleaned out of silly notions you stand a better chance of making it through and actually getting something.

i've got a tip if u dont already do it.give your plants 24hrs to 48hrs of darkness before u flower.i read about it and tried it and my plants showed sex in 5 days and i had extra gowth when i turned lights back on.i gave mine 32hrs
