Sounds like he cooked it down so much thinking the iso is still deep
In the hash along with how much exposure the iso had to the plant material. Sounds like my first batch of ethanol hash: soaking bud in your average everclear and then cooking it down. Not a great idea, just let it evaporate, the rest will take care of itself.

So after you've soaked your material....I use 192 vodka for about 15 min for a first run....and then strained into your pyrex pan..... add a fan to help with the evaporation.
if the product comes back black.... you have let the material sit to long in the Alcohol.....Do 2-3 15 mins runs...... 1st run is always the best one
if you turn up the heat to 320*F or so when you evaporate the alcohol..... your making rick simpson oil
If you do it right and you have a nice indica strain... you can get nice looking...great tasting... head slamming DABS
Below was made from pre998 bubba kush...clone only grown for 10 years

Nice hash there, just tried everclear recently but I need to work on finding it in a higher proof. Realized that when i spread the hash over my oil slick pad, it gets like shatter with thinly spread stuff.
