Day 37 into first flower...next step questions...(should I flush)

1st plant, first harvest. General info followed by harvesting questions. Thanks for any input! Happy growing!

- Bagseed, topped once after 5th node, LST
- 5 gallon
- Homemade medium consisting of Whitney Farms organic potting soil, coco coir, diatomaceous earth, and brewed coffee grounds. (About the coffee grounds...I read somewhere when I started that it's a good nitrogen source and I was short on funds at the time. Not a shit ton of coffee...maybe 1.5 cups)

Lights/atmosphere:
2x2 tent
18/6 on a 300watt Hydrocrunch LED
12/12 with Mars Hydro Ts600 (new purchase...hence the shift)

Really have had no issues with environment. Negative pressure at all times. VPD chart has been followed and maintained surprisingly well.
High 81 day (trying to get a little lower)
Low 67 night

Nutes:
2 tsp Novabloom - 1 tsp CalMag per gallon every 3-4 days till slight runoff. Both nutes by General Hydroponics.

Not too concerned with timing of harvest as I'm comfortable judging by the ambering % of the trichomes. Not gonna do any ice tricks or 2 days total darkness or anything...unless the darkness thing is highly recommended. Plan on a slight wet trim followed by a thorough dry trim before being curing.

It doesn't look it but I swear I've been defoliating!! I was in there every other day trimming fans but they are too frosty now to get to without disturbing bud sites at this point. I regret not trimming more...but hey...learning curve ‍♂

My question is....why do some people flush and some not flush? I know it has to do with the soil and nutrients...however with my concoction of both I'm looking for opinions from experienced growers.

Judging by my situation...should I flush or not flush?

Please feel free to add any other issues/observations I should address as well.

Thanks again!

Oh Dear, I've only been on this Forum for a short while, but can see that the Flush or Not to Flush question can cause some hot debate so it'll be interesting to see what folks say. I can only talk from personal experience, but it's my understanding that you flush a plant towards the end of it's flowering period in order to wash out any salts left in the soil. I grow with organic nutrients so the likelihood of salt residues is far less than with chemical nutrients so I don't flush. Instead I reduce my nutes towards the end so I can continue to feed the soil, but not have so much left in the plant that it will affect final taste or the way it smokes. Just my opinion, hope it helps. Cheers
