a method that works well is using a sterilized cool whip or equivalent container and duck tape it so its dark( sides and top 1-2 layers) take 2 paper towels fold up to get a small square get it wet and ring lightly unfold to a rectangle then place in cool whip tube take a knife slighty nic the outside of the seed and place seeds in the tub near where the fold where be fold the paper towel over and push paper lighty push paper towel around seed if u rang out to much water pray paper towel a few times where seeds are close and place near warm surface i use the top of my computer monitor i usuuallt check every few hrs to give fresh air in the tub i have had them crack in bout 6-18ish hrs most of the time there crack in 12 hrs... once i find a cracked seed i thruoghly wet the soil of the small container and place the seed no more than 1/4 inch deep tap root down(**aovid touching the tap root at all costs and do not sqeeze shell at all be very gentle**) losely move sum soil over hole and spraya few times to work soil aorund the seed and i usually spray the spot a few times where the seedling was planted just to make sure the top layer doesn't dry out to much... by day 3 the sprout is usually up and open.. hope this helps sum1 this is just wut i know works well for me. theres lots of good ways to germ already posted :D didn't think another would hurt :P gl and i hope u found what u were looking for ^.^

I'm just in the process of getting ready to grow. In my case, it means I have to build a space for my plants, and that starts today. Because I have very few seeds, and live in a constantly cold house, I really don't want to screw it up, so I ordered a small electric greenhouse for germinating my seeds. Like this: http://gurneys.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_12829. They told me yesterday it would ship out Monday, so hopefully by next weekend I'll be in business.

I been meaning to grow my own for a long time, feels good just getting ready. Stopped 20 years ago when my oldest son was getting wise to the old man growing pot under the stairs. Now he's helping me build my closet.

Hope y'all have a great day!

less than 24 hours for a taproot about 2-5 mm long. If you want results do the following..

1. soak seeds in a cup of tap water until they sink. One by one as they sink take them out ( take the ones that sink out immediately or at least within 2 hours or so after they sink so as not to drown them ) and place them in between MOIST ( NOT SOAKING WET.. YOU WILL JUST ROT YOUR SEEDS ) paper towel ( I use 2 paper towels folded 3-4 times to make it thick ) and place somewhere that is between 60f and 75f.. If the seeds are viable then within 24 hours the seeds will germinate and you will get a taproot and ready to plant. 100% success if the seeds are good.
Stay away from "heat sources" as this can EASILY "cook" your seeds.. Seeds do not take very much warmth to germinate and will easily just die and rot if you get them too warm and/or keep them too wet.

This is the way to do it.Dont listen to ppl that tell you otherwise.
whoever has a fucking prolblem with me or my posts can kiss my ass . I wwear I wish I could meet some of you lil bitch ass mfs in person..I NEVER said it was the only fuckng way. Im just trying to help the OP by telling MY way. So fuck you if you dont like it..I hope your fucking crops get spider mites that have crabs that have the clap. Bitch ass haters. Get a fucking life and get off my DICK ,faggot.

Tom I use these Super Starter Rubberized Moss is what I think the hydro supply guy said it was. Either way, u can just get them at any hydro place, They're called starter plugs. They're so much better than rockwool, IMO. U don't have to condition them like rockwool. U just put ur seed in it a lil pH balanced H20 and Voila, in less than 2 days u got ur sprout. Yes usually mine are sprouted by the 2nd day.

this pic was from 2 days after I placed the seed in the plug. And Here's a pic of it 2 days after that.

I don't presoak or nothing. just place seed in moist starter, which they naturally are. I keep mine in the fridge till I need them. Then let them come to room temp before using them. After u place seed, place a few drops of water and I use one of them seed starting humidifiers. They work good for clones also. So I spray the top of the tent and cover with a black plastic bag cover and within 48 hours all my seeds are sprouting over the surface of plug and ready for light. Around my way the plugs run $6.50 for 25 or $12 for 50. Check them out man I highly recommend them. -Dodge:peace:

Do you have a water tube up against the Super Starter Rubberized Moss thing in a Bubbleponic like system?
Thanks
Tom

Yes now I do thanx 2 Bluey. I was hand feeding my plants. Dropping the water level in my res b4 the roots hit the water. It was a mess! Brown Algae! YUCK! The plants growth was stunted because of this mess. So I went and got a water pump. Now on one of my systems(the 18 gallon res), I have the feeding tubes in the hydroton, like the bubbleponics. The feeding hose comes thru the net into the hydroton. Where as my new babies(K.C. Brasil and G13 Labs PS that are in a 10 gallon res), I am drip feeding from the top of the hydroton. If u look at that top pic I posted u'll see a brown stake for holding my feeding hose. I am however, seriously considering changing my feeding tubes to the same way my other one is set up. Into the hydroton. So yes, I have a water tube but not necessarilly against the plugs. I'm sure in the one set up, where the tubes are in the hydroton the water shoots on the plugs. Where as to the other set up, yes the plug gets wet but the tubes aren't shootin water directly at the plugs. Those plugs hold an incredible amount of moisture. :peace:-Dodge

i think it really depends on the strength of the seed. i germinated a handful using the moist paper towel technique and got mixed results with some seeds taking only a few days with others taking a week. out of 15 seeds though, 14 had germinated, each with different speeds of root growth.
kept the strongest ones and tossed the rest in my backyard (the seeds weren't purchased)

I personally use a couple different methods to germ.. Insulated mug filled with alittle water takes 2-5 days to germ... Paper towel moist in a zip lock half ziped takes 1-3 days for me.. Ive always been consistant around 80% success. I do choose my seeds based on look size striping and quality of smoke... And I use attitude seeds cant beat the price and the T-Shirts are gay but thats the love of re gifting lmfao.. The bible I know most of you have read it give you several germination tricks and tips.. I have had almost 100 % success using the mug o water compared to 85%-90% for the paper towel....

Grow speed and high ty ho
