im not sure either man, if your ph isnt off, its prolly a nitrogen deficiency. however it could be possible since your growing a sativa, that she is very very sensitive to the nutes. im having a similar problem. for example... i have two grapfruit x willie nelson plants in veg right now. one is a good green color on the stem with healthy big leaves and branches. the other has been turning dark purple on the main stem and the leaves are much smaller and not as healthy. i also have a bagseed plant which is showing the same symptoms only worse. and of course they are both showing female pre-flowers so i dont want to give up on them.
i did notice that on both of the problem plants, they have quite a bit of perlite in the soil, however i didnt think that could cause this to happen. so im lost too... and ive searched my head off trying to diagnose this. i really want to keep my GF x WN, its a good strain.

i would try just using plain water for a while, until your sure you've figured out what the problem is. its very possible with that strain that it could be getting too much fert. sativas always burn easy in my opinion.

thanks dude. i added the perlite after this started happening because i thought that my soil was staying to moist for to long. im pretty sure it was a combo of that and a little to much fert. i flushed it out last night and it was draining much better. it seems to have grown a little since

if it is a potasium dif. then molasses is a good source as well for it. Try using just straight water for the next week or two (ph'd of course) and add molasses to it. Its a great organic nut and great source for potas. although it doesnt have nitrogen but your plants look pretty green so they could prob do without

thanks for the suggestions guys. i checked the soil ph and it was anywhere from 6.8 to 7 so that seems about normal to me. i removed a bunch of bark from the soil and added a good amount of perlite to help with draining. temps arent to hot,my guess would be between 70 and 80 F i dont have a thermometer in there. i have a fan running on high right on the plants from about 3 feet away so the air flow should be good. its in a closet so maybe i should open it up a few more times a day. i usually open it up like two or three times and let it air out. any other suggestions, should i feed her again? this girl has got me stumped
I'm no expert myself, but the expert advice I got from the Hydro shop was that the water ph should be between 6.2 and 6.5. Other than that, it could just be genetics...even mj can have downs syndrdome, hahaha!:blsmoke:

Hey Homer Hudson, if no1 else has already done so, welcome to RIU. You have good knowledge, how long have u been growing?
Thanks Ninja much appreciated. I don't actually grow on my own, I assist a couple of grow sites with basic/advance plant problems. Although it seems much more difficult to rectify and see problems without 'actually' being there feeling and having closer inspections, but I will try my best with low res images lol

The more people I help here and the more knowledge passed around, the better it is for the worldwide community of smokers :blsmoke:

i figured id give a little update. i started to lst both of the plants. the healthy one is doing great, im gettin a lot of tops. the weaker one is doin ok. im pretty sure it had a potassium def, thanks to all who spotted that. bongsmilie i gave her a feeding yesterday and today is the first day she hasnt gotten worse, so i have high hopes. if she starts to look worse im just gunna chop her to make room for clones from the good one. let me know what you think.
