Deficiency of calmag ?

Growing my ladies in rdwc .

Temperature 80-82, rh50%.

Using ro water with calmag mixed at 3.5ml per gallon .36 ec and then I have .2 ec of base and grow in there for total of .56 ec

Now I notice a bit of an issue with the primary leafs I have left and think this could possibly be a calmag issue that could be resolved with a mixture closer to 5ml gallon.

Thanks for looking and any insight.

What is the pH?
What is the water temp in the res?
What exactly is in the res (nutes, supplements, etc)?
Pic of roots?

Primarily 5.9 with it drifting .2 each way.
20 degrees Celsius .
Calmag now 240ppm or .48ec, was 180 or .36
Base and grow at mixing rate for another 100ppm , .2ec far a total of .68
Orca is in there also .

Roots are an off white in this tote but look good , no slime .

I can shoot a pic a bit earlier in the morning.

Ok, this morning it’s .675ec and ph of 5.92

first pick is roots in affected tote , second is a tote with very minimal damage and the others

Yesterday I removed the 4 leaves .

Comparing how roots look to each other I have to wonder if there could be something not wanted in my water.

This morning I added more orca in a stronger dose though the pots, few hours before days end.

After there rest they seem to be very perky , but I have a leaf curl that I don’t like on the back 2 pots.

Going to dump everything in a few hours and refresh, see if I can get them to look a bit more healthy like.

Maybe chilling the water a bit cooler may help too?

I don't think you should be feeding a higher ec of calmag than base nutrients. You're nutrient solution is 100 ppms of base nutrients which includes NPK and micronutrients but you're using 180 ppms of calmag. Both Ca and Mg can be antagonistic with other nutrients. You don't want more Ca and Mg than either N, P, or K. You're roots look fine so the plants are not getting the right amounts of what they want. I'd bump up the base nutrients and cut back on the calmag. The balance is off.

Is there a reason you don't just use tap water and skip the calmag?

I am on a well and my water is quite high in iron , so it’s just easier to get to use RO at this time.
I will dump my mix and start again with lower calmag and a higher base , grow then.

Thank you very much.

Remixed

Ro I use is 12ppm to start.

2.5ml/g of calmag to 145-150ppm , .3ec

Then base and grow at mixing rate to 360ppm .72ec.

This in turn work out to about 1/3 strength on the grow side.

If they eat and curl goes away, I will increase accordingly.

Again thank you for the direction @xtsho.
