it was bred with a FEM auto, so dont breed with fem seeds, you will get herms but 1 out of 12 females from 20 seeds, this is the first hermie ive seen, so maybe its not so bad since 1/12 is pretty good odds. i saw about 9-10 balls all together so its not the worst case of hermaphroditism i've seen but i HATE and i mean i fucking hate hermies more than anything. But yea, if i make a few hundred seeds i'll defo see to it that others can grade the strain themselves.
speaking of the strain, its starting to loose its smell, no more pickles, straight up velvet and sweet smell now, one female (the 24 day old one) smells like orangeade like lemonade but oranges and the 2 older females smell like apples and velvet, some citrus smell. I have an OrangeStunk clone who's resin production is better than anything else but its super dark green in color (showing signs of high Nitrogen or even too much nitrogen) but i haven't been nuting it with anything else besides molasses, Big bloom and some(small amount) tiger bloom.
im cutting everything down on february 10th, regardless of if they are ready or not since i cant waste time on these when i really want to run alot of gear i've bought from the attitude and sannies. I want to give breeding a try myself, i might get some Lowryders and cross them with the Ace of Spades i got from TGA.

damn, she was my favorite looking too! I've gotten a few hermies from my Chernobyl x Fruit auto seeds, but they look alot more like the Fruit auto in appearance.
Vortex x Fruit auto has showed 0 signs of hermaphrodites out of 30 seeds. I wont say its your fault since i knew we would get a few, or a whole lot depending on how stable/unstable these crosses came out, that was the whole point of this experiment. I just pollinated my females with the best autoflower males from my vortexfruit and the Jillyfruit male you gave me so we have some f2's in 4-6 weeks time. I hope you can test a few of these over the summer. if the f2's show recessive traits like a hermaphroditic nature or weak potency or growth, then i will probably scrap this entire breeding experiment and just grow out my Hazeus [Atomic haze male x BrainstormG13 haze female]. i Just wanna smoke these f1's already and see what they are made of!
i believe my females should be fully mature by mid january and cured by mid february and ready for a smoke report.
i don't mind if you continue to stabilize the strain, IN FACT i encourage it
since i'm starting to want to move on since all my tents are full with Vortexfruit and CHernfruit. i just needed some good f2's for outdoors in April. Whatever goes outdoors in april will have the chance or a higher chance to autoflower when compared to these F1's and therefore will be done by mid june or later. f3's will be started in july and then finished by september or october and give us f4's of (hopefully) stable genetics.

i dont know if it is because of the autoflowering parent, but i do know that whenever you breed with feminized plants the offspring has a raised chance for herms, which is exactly why i dont support fem seeds for breeding, i just decided to make an exception since i had never intended to smoke the Fruit auto in the first place. i wanted to take some great tga genetics and add them to an already good autoflower and see what came from it, and they did turn out better than the regular ol fruit auto in the end so im happy with the results, it makes me want to try this again but with a much larger set of parents to choose from(the f2's), maybe make something exceptional.

Update: yesterday was day 27 of 12/12, practically a month since i began flowering. The footage shows plants on various stages of watering and reorganizing my tent after and before cleaning it. (i clean it every 3-4 days.

Halfway through Flowering, making me get all giddy with anticipation. in 2 months the buds will be cured and ready for a proper smoke report.

Vortexfruit look like they can go another 2 weeks in flowering, maybe 55 days if its an early finisher. currently on day 63 from seed and 44 since flowering (autoflowers)

Everything is looking good, going to water them and transfer a few into 5 gallon pots, so maybe they can get a little larger root mass and stop yellowing(blue mystics) and get a nicer yield (Deku's), i believe that the larger the root mass and pot size, the better and stronger and more complex the scent of the strain becomes.

What kind of parts are you using?
Have you tried out the smartpots? they create root mass amazingness

i haven't gotten smartpots yet, these are simple 5 gallon pots. my horticulture store doesn't sell smartpots... so i use perlite/ ffof and happy frog. usually nute with some root enhancer from general hydroponics, some molasses big bloom, a little tiger bloom and grow big from fox farms nutes.

It saddens me to say that the one hermie i had detected earlier (my favorite sativa leaning pheno, non -autoflower might i add) has been growing some feminised hermie seeds in her midsection so i figure i have close to 100 fem seeds of Deku from her possible Nanner and the ball i found around 2 weeks ago, now i would be ordinarily under the impression that these seeds and plant are fodder and deserve to die, if it were not for the fact that there is still some gleaming potential for this old favorite, possible worthy offspring even though it is a self pollination of a hermaphrodite prone sativa strand. i got my other female pollinated by my triforce and those will be regular seeds. Every other plant looks to finish within 5 weeks time and not showing signs of pollination, f2 seeds should be ready by 5 weeks, fully fertile from my nearly 5 week female and ready to be germinated.

yea i feel like keeping this thread going to demonstrate some difficulties of breeding autoflower strains, but if i am successful like i hope, i will try to stablilize a apple skunk auto pheno for f3.

Also if i end up pollinating my Orangestunk clone with this herm i might wanna take a look at what those offspring are, same goes for the blue mystic. those i find almost impossible to make hermie lol so maybe the offspring wont be as fussy. as for the S1 fem seeds, i think it would do me no good to try and stabilize hermie prone seed stock. I got to see some of Chemist Brothers flowering vortexfruit and they look much nicer than mine 
maybe jillybean wasn't the best parent i could have chose, still i like mine since they grow larger than the vortexfruit's do. Gonna have a video in the afternoon for my 5 weeks update, ill show the seeds forming and everything, not that it matters.
