Not just any democrat either, this is the son of the late Edward Kennedy.

He wants to lard on a bunch of "regulations" to medical marijuana, so I guess it's all good.

This is a HuffPo article so it is "liberal eyes" safe.

"Jan 5 (Reuters) - Retired Rhode Island Congressman Patrick Kennedy is taking aim at what he sees as knee-jerk support for marijuana legalization among his fellow liberals, in a project that carries special meaning for the self-confessed former Oxycontin addict."

Kennedy wants cancer patients and others with serious illnesses to be able to obtain drugs with cannabinoids, but in a more regulated way that could involve the U.S. Food and Drug Administration playing a larger role.


What a dick. I wouldn't vote for him. but then again I think medical marijuana is a fucked idea

Illegal to sell

That is what i would push for

i am all for more regulations as it would mean higher quality. i was astounded to learn the other day that my 3 month old outdoor (which i consider to be crap) was looking better than what the dispensaries around here are carrying.

no bueno. tax and regulate is the way to go.

How would it be halfway legal?
You could possess and grow it for yourself and give away to freinds

When you want to tax and regulate, now you are inviting the goverment in.

What do you think of the goverment saying OK legal to sell
but a sellers permit is 400k?

Why illegal to sell? Why does the government get to pick and choose what people do for a living?

I would like to add to this...

If it is illegal to sell then growing more than you can use would be evidence and the cops could keep on kicking in doors... I want to be left alone by the government, not have them create more laws against what I want to do.

The goverment gets to pick and choose who gets to sell
Can you afford 400k for a sellers permit?

And no unless a cop sees you trading money for weed a cop couldnt kick in your door

But to make it halfway legal ... you already need to "invite government in". Why not go all-in and legalize sale and trade? cn

Because sale and trade requires regulation
Regulation means inviting the goverment in.
I would like to distill my own whiskey and sell it. Think I can do it?

If weed is legal to possess and grow
illegal to sell

Then the goverment has nothing to do with what you are doing unless you break the law

and the only way to do that is by selling it

What you advocate is getting the goverment and big tobacco involved
having the shit taxed out of it
and the goverment still gets to kick down your door because you refuse to pay the tax stamps and follow the regulations that are set forth

That is why the simplest fastest solution is a law that says
Marijuana is legal to possess and grow
illegal to sell

It will also keep the cartels out
