Alright y'all, because of a few lifestyle changes, I need to now take down my now 4'×4'×7' flower tent, and my 3×3×6 veg tent and build a single stelth grow box for both flower and veg no more than 46"×34"×60". I have so many questions, #1 how do you fit both a veg and flower area in that size? Even if I had just one plant in each, how do you fit a fully flowering plant in a 2ftx1.5x area? Training techniques for this size grow area? #2 how do you keep the lights from shining through while also getting good air flow? Any help is appreciated here guys! Thank you so much!!!

I keep light from getting into my tents by using extra ducting and making a 90 degree turn with a nice long section of ducting following it, or by making an S shape-putting pantyhose at the end of the ducting also helps diffuse the light entering the tube. As for your other questions, I'm sure there are people more knowledgeable about growing in a small space than me. I used to veg in my reef tank aquarium stand back in 1999-had a crazy sprawling AK-47 mother in there almost touching a high output fluorescent. Flouros might be useful in your veg section because you can get the plants close to them, but I'd try for something more powerful for flowering.

Have you seen the @marshydro two in one tents?

I'll try to find it.
Yea I've seen them, I could still never comprehend how you fit a full grown flowering plant in that small space, and I cant use a tent, it needs to be a stelth grow box, no light shining through ANYWHERE is the biggest issue

Like I need it to basically look like a normal waredrobe or cabinet

Thanks man, do you have any pictures by any chance? I'm having a hard time visualizing the light blocking techniques you used lol. Right now I have a few small backup LEDs and a Spectrum King 402 (which is a big unit in itself, about 12"x12"x12") was thinking about getting a super thin led panel

The tents are designed to keep light in/out. I'd get a 2x4 and have it up against a wall somewhere. It can easily pass for a portable wardrobe. No matter what huge object you have in the home.. someone will see it, and ask about it I'm sure. I have a bar on top of my tent, and I hang clothes off of it when I want my tents to blend in, and act natural.
Which reminds me of this meme lol IMG_E7028.JPG

I grow in a similar sized space. It’s 30x40x60 tall. I grow autos because they just fit this type of space better. Whether photo or auto you will want to LST them early and often. You will also want to use smaller maybe 2 gallon pots to control size. Use led lights, I have an awful time controlling (balancing fan speed) heat/smell/humidity - that’s probably the hardest part of growing in a small space.

That meme is great lol but yea I haven't come across any tent that is 100% leak proof, you need air intake, so you need openings that allow air to come in, when you open the screen intake windows on the tents the light shines right out very noticeably. If you know of anything I can put over the vents so air still gets in but light doesnt get out man I'm all ears!!

Yea trust me its be much easier to do autos just for the fact I wouldnt need a separate veg area, but I need to do photos for my main supply, I need medical grade and even the best autos just cant stack up. I do LST but I've always done it in an square grow area 4'×4', how do you get it to grow more one way than the other to fit in a 2'-3'×1.5' space?

If you have 3 x 1.5, it’s easy. That’s 2 - 1.5x1.5 spots for plants to grow. I would stick to 2 gallon pots and don’t veg too long. Clip any lower side branches to keep the foot print down. I don’t use one but a scrog net might help with training into more of a rectangular canopy shape.

My brain just cannot comprehend flowering in a 1.5'×1.5' area man! I legit cant even visualize it lol. Anyone have any pics of there small flower areas? What's your average yield in such a small space?

I made a little attachment for my fan, and I run a vacuum hose into the small round port into the tent. Making sure I stretched the sleeves on the port out to help cover any light that might try to sneak in.. but the hose is in back of the tent, and against the wall. Not much light getting back there, even with the room light on.9ACFF333-8D5C-4B36-8692-3FA1A7364134.jpeg

So this is an AUTO I have now, taking up most of my 4'x4' !! And then this is the area I'm going to need to build or put the grow box in the bedroom, (dont mind the mess, the ac and the side table will be moved) , it is right by a window for air outake so that's good, also will by directly up against the heater. Only filter I have is 6in AC infinity which idk if I could even fit it, unless I made the cabinet really tall which is a possibility. I also do DWC in 5g buckets. I'd like to keep them I'm 5g if possible, unless any of you guys have had luck in smaller/shorter rez and still have good root structures?

the height in these is deceiving. There is only about 16-18 inches between the tops of the buds and the light. Any closer and my plants suffer. It’s a 315 cmh. The light is mounted as close to the ceiling as the hangers will allow. That’s why I recommend led for this height. I’m switching to led when I get my next Biden check. Avg yield? It’s my first cycle in this space. My first goal was 4 zips every 70 days, but now I would say maybe 6 every 80 days without much effort but I’m sure an hp or more is a possibility if your space is really dialed in. The big pots in here are 3g, but I feel like I’ve had to cut the plants back pretty aggressively to keep their buds to themselves, which is why I’m planning to switch to 2 gallon pots as I harvest and restart new plants.
