Details of triming. How often and how ?

I am not to sure on the trimming part of growing ive had a few people say i need to trim that it will make CFL's more efficent since their light footprint is not very big and they have a hard time penetrating to the bottom buds.


Feedback will be greatly appreciated !

add more lights don't trim ,your well into flowering the plant uses the stored sugars and nutes from the fan leaves ,that's why they yellow later at the end of the grow
 
I have read from some of the better growers on here such as fdd, that recommend no trimming whatsoever unless the leaf is dead and comes off on its own basically.

off topic but is that aluminum foil you have hanging up? If so take it down because it can create heat spots on your plants and burn them in some places. Something you can use thats better is either flat white paint or panda film. These won't create heat spots. Beautiful looking plants by the way.
 
dont trim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! youre taking away plant food AND you may be eligible to win a hermie from all that stress. i suggest bending or tucking away the leaves if theyre covering buds.

I would think that if he is using CFL's he can use tin foil with no problems as there would be no such thing as "Hot Spots" with CFL's because they do not get hot.

am I wrong by saying that?

i just thought that was for HPS lights?

please correct me if I am wrong here. just wondering thanks.

im pretty sure your wrong. and my cfl's get hot, i can touch them but the plants burn if they do.

regardless of the hotspot thing, flat white paint is better than foil anyway. unless you install it perfect paint trumps mylar IMO.
