Dialing in my aero cloner

Hmm, my clones typically take 2-3 weeks to get roots, but I have no heater, is it that big of a difference? Maybe I should grab a small aquarium heater.
Ya the temp is absolutely a huge variable. 78-80 will be optimal, anything lower extends the rooting time.

A small recirculating pump heats the nutrient and encourages root growth.

Here's my 4 aero-cloner set-up. I can run 400+ clones at a time. I have found that larger reservoirs are easier to control temps. These are 55gl totes from home depot. I fill with 15gl of solution. I bought premade EZ-cloner sprayer manifolds and cheap pond pumps, however they do work quite well. I use seedling heat mats under each cloner to keep the temp around 80deg. I used clonex and pool shock. I get around 90% roots in 7-10 days...bottom pic is about 250 Wedding Cake...best of luck

im throwing out everything i know and own and making your setup can you go indepth about how u make that tub not leak and how much pool shock you use and clonex maybe some links i know how to use a hole saw and i the already have plenty of neoprene pucks also what size pump etc

Ok i will try. I like to use the larger (55gl) totes from Home Depot because I they hold more solution in the reservoir. Using Small totes the pumps can overheat the cloning solution. With 55gl tote i use 15gl of solution and one pump won't overheat it. I buy most everything from Amazon or Home depot. I'm sure you could use smaller totes but these work well for me. I buy premade sprayer heads from amazon and attach them to a cheap pond pump. The pumps a i use are 800gph submersible pond pumps. the sprayers i use are premade Klone King manifolds and they attach right to the top of the pump. The pumps and the manifolds are about $25 each on Amazon.

I have already posted links and info on Pool shock on the first page of this thread, just read back a page and you will find it. A seedling heat mate is used when I need to raise the reservoir temp to 80deg. I hope this helps you, these work very well for me.
I'm not sure where your leaks are coming from, please be more specific.

Yea that pump works I got mine on Amazon open box for 20. They Def work I am nervous as shit going on vacation for a week plants are in tent with two 28 gal totes. I just know somthing going to go wrong. I also have air pump and two 12 inch airstones going. Maybe fill the rez more so it don't go dry. What do you think? I also put sprayers underneath so it don't spray everywhere or leak. Got 180 sprayer on edge and 360 I middle. Hope I don't lose plants on vacation. Got to have ac running in tent and dehumidifier as well Florida hot and it's hotter in the tent.

Aquarium heaters are probably more efficient than heating from underneath with pads. You could use one digital temp controller in one tote to heat all the heaters in all the seperate totes, as long as the water levels are roughly the same. Same with the heat pads, as i'm sure you guys would know.

I think the only real practical upgrade would be putting a cycle timer on the pumps, so you can tune it to get the optimal air/water ratio's. For example: 37 seconds ON, and 3 minutes and 39 seconds OFF, etc.. The schedule would change as they develop, for maximum control.

24/7 spray will get you roots, either way.

DWC cloners work just as good, if not better than LP aero cloners. With enough aeration, the bubbles popping at the surface create a mist with finer particles than an actual high pressure aero nozzle can produce. Coating the stems with mist and bubbles, instead of pelting it with aerated water droplets. Find the "zone" when you get the water level height just below all the cuttings that are at the same height too.

I dunno though, they both work great. The only difference I ever noticed was none. It was mostly up to the cuttings themselves when they wanted to root, or different environments.

how much pool shock per gallon

Mix 2gr of pool shock powder to 1gl of water to make pools shock solution.
I use 100ml of the pool shock solution for 15gl reservoir. Add 100ml twice a week.
I have seen this method with great success.

There recipe was a bit stronger at 10-1.
Calling it a super clean calcium loaded spray zone.

Crazy root nodules.

After reading up on this I had my wife grab some pool shock in town but this is the only type they carry. It's not the same strength as what you used from Amazon doublejj. Is it still the same basic stuff just a little weaker or should I return this and order the other one?IMG_20220523_211129883.jpg I've been adding 3 drops a gallon of liquid bleach for now but I'm getting ready to change out the reservoir and cut fresh clones soon. Thanks.

This is my first time aero cloning. I followed griffins tech. 3 ml per gallon hormex, 20 ml clonex and instead of uc roots I used pool shock. After a week you refill res and drop the hormex. I had some environmental and ph issues that I need to work on but the root growth looks great so far. These are at day 16 or so, if I get things dialed in I should be able get them to root up quicker.PXL_20220603_024922603.jpgPXL_20220603_024904390.jpg

Excuse the language... Fk me!
What's hormex and what do you do with the clonex?

Dude
You have either too hot of water or bacteria
Your roots don’t look anything like his and I can get better roots with plain water in 16 days

Like I said, it is my first time doing them in aero, I still need to work on things. I've been dosing pool shock every two days and water temps have been about 76f. Do you have any pics of your superior roots?
