I try to maximize the flowering area of my light(s). So that means as many tops as possible w/ very little below the canopy except for a few fan leaves that don’t interfere w/ the airflow.
I can’t really use a scrog net in my space…..it’s a 2’x6’ closet and I have to remove the plants to manicure and water them. So my canopy is never perfectly even. B/c of this, I will remove any upper fans than block sites below it.
I don’t really know if I would get a bigger yield doing it another way. I have no idea
what’s considered a good yield for my particular space size, total wattage and veg time. I grow 3 plants that veg for 6/7 weeks after they grow out of the seedling stage. I’m running 2 HLG r-spec LED lights…..470 total watts and I’ve gotten from 14-17oz of almost all tops, tightly trimmed.
Anyway, each grow is a learning experience and you’ll settle in to the style that works for U.
