Disabled vet first grow

New here, although have read quite a bit before joining. I'm a combat disabled vet waiting for disability process to end, until then looking for something to fill my time. I have some experience with outdoor gardening, but none indoor. My space is 36" wide, 18" deep, and 24" high. Painted flat white inside. I can use only what is laying around the house, so the setup isn't the greatest. Working with what I got into steady income hits. I had got a sack and a random nug in there, must have been totally different weed than the rest. It was packed with 14 seeds. None of the other bud had seeds. Bud looked like the size of about half a gram. So pretty dense with seeds. I thought hey what the hell, I'll give it a try. I put eight seeds to germinate, and all eight sprouted quickly. Growing directly under two 23w cfl, soft white and daylight, plus a few other floros in there to supplement when the time comes. I will be adding more supplies as they come. I have fox farm grow big nutrients. Just mixed a quarter teaspoon to a gallon once I noticed second set of true leaves in there. First set sprouted with the cotyledons, anyone ever have that? I have them in a starter mix, no nutrients in it, I'm pretty sure it's nothing but coco coir, vermiculite, and other inert substances. I will be adding pics here shortly.

Be very careful fertilizing your young seedlings. Its easy to burn them bc their roots are new and undeveloped. Put up some pix if you can. Good luck with your grow and thanks for serving. Do you think combat vets could benifit from smoking cannabis for PTSD and do you think the govnmt should provide it for them? Do you use it for that purpose?
Totally nunna my business but I was just curious.

The back of the bottle said give 1/2 tsp per gallon for seedlings and class foliar feeding. I was worried about that, so I decided to go half that,1/4 tsp per gallon. Gave it to them yesterday morning. They didn't seem to react negatively. Since then just water, I don't know when I should again and if I should keep it at that level. Bottle says once a week..

I have benefited from it, I have my medical marijuana card for it. I have a severe tbi and severe ptsd, and it helps at times, just gotta use it right and not to just get high. It could be helpful if not abused. Some strains make the condition worse at times. Government should allow vets the access, meaning doctor's at the VA should be able to sign off on the papers to get your card. Not saying supply it, but giving the means for us to do it on our own. I had to pay 100 dollars extra for a bullshit doctor to sign my paper, when I already had the diagnosis from the va. Would have only cost thirty if the va could sign off on those applications.

I'd say once a week too unless you see any yellowing at all. Look especially for yellow tips which mean burn. If it is to happen you'll see it within a couple days. If it doesn't happen then continue with the rate you've been using.
At some point down the road you'll want a little lime in your soil mix which will keep the ph around 6.8 and it provides magnisium as well. Epsom salts will also provide Mg and it helps with rooth growth. Soil growing in my opinion is easier and yields a better tasting product. I think you'll agree in time.

These are not their permanent pots, just what I used to sprout them, however I do not see any root tips at the bottom so I am still waiting to transplant. I will be using amended soil.

They have been above surface for about a week and a half now. They sprouted with their first true leaves. Has anyone ever had that?

The cotyledons always emerge first. Not just with Cannabis but with all species of green plants. Sometimes those will be deformed and the true leaves will come through but I have never seen true leaves emerge first.

They sprouted WITH the cotyledons. I have grown other herbs and vegetables from seed and never seen this happened. I wish I would have taken a pic. Thought it was really cool but it has thrown me off as to where I am at from seedling to veg state..

Are you in a legal state?

I am also waiting for my VA rating, just had some more fucking xrays this morning. It has ONLY been a year so I guess I should not complaint (sarcasm) as it is taking over two years on average around the country. I pulled chocks almost exactly 1 year ago (20140901).

Before I dropped paperwork I was getting acupuncture twice a week for a few spinal cord injuries and major headaches. I have a lifetime supply of ultram and ibuprofen. Since I have been out I smoke or eat cannabis occasionally (not daily) and have had not had to take any pills but only a few times in the last year. When I have plants in veg I juice the leaves and add to some FIVE ALIVE citrus concentrate. I am a firm believer in the anti-inflammatory properties of raw cannabis juice. Kratom works really well too but it does have a psychoactive quality - nothing major for me but I can tell it is there. As far as PTSD - cannabis (dependent on the strain) can seriously mellow out the peaks and valleys. I can attest to the diminished anxiety and anger. It is easier to forgive the past and try to see a different perspective of things that trouble me.

Good luck.

I literally just got out of a six hour appointment for my brain injury. Occupational and physical therapy type stuff. I am in a medically legal state, NM. And oddly enough, today marks the one year date from my application date. I'm in a limbo where if they want to do one more exam or give a decision. Of course, that takes months, then will take a couple more months to take action on whichever decision they come up with. Gotta love the VA.

I really like the idea of juicing the leaves. I'm definitely going to have to give that a shot. If I can get these Damn things to grow.
