Is there a chance dawn and neem oil will hurt my plant if used for fungus gnats? I'm hesitant because I've read a couple horror stories about using it. I was wondering if anybody had anymore insight?
What's a better emulsifier? I don't want to risk it.Don’t do it with the lights on they can burn.
The soap will kill your beneficial bacteria in the soil so it’s a loss for a organic grower.
Brew up some tea to give the soil a boost after.
Edit- don’t spray the plant if it’s budding
Ok cool thanks man!Don’t know man,I’m all ‘organic’ for the most part and have used dawn and neem or oil of oregano for fungus gnats no problem,
Just brew up a couple different teas later that week. One heavy on mushroom compost, one heavy on compost another heavy on EWC, always mixing it up. You’ll get that soil life back.
Edit- put diatomaceous earth on your soil when it’s dry too. Will kill any trying to lay eggs or crawl out of the soil.
Set up some yellow sticky traps for flyers too
I have my own worm bin for EWC but I keep bags of 4-5 brands around at all times.Ok cool thanks man!
I only have 1 bag of ewc right now. I got it from bas so it should be pretty decent. I'm actually being a tea as we speak cuz I was going to top dress and water it in with the tea tomorrow. I guess plans just changed. LolI have my own worm bin for EWC but I keep bags of 4-5 brands around at all times.
No one’s castings are gonna be the same different bacteria in every brand/bag.
Nice to make tea with 4 different EWC and let the strongest bacteria survive
I’ve heard great things about BAS probably great castings.I only have 1 bag of ewc right now. I got it from bas so it should be pretty decent. I'm actually being a tea as we speak cuz I was going to top dress and water it in with the tea tomorrow. I guess plans just changed. Lol
That's what I'm working on now. I've just started organic a few months ago. I'll eventually have my own work bin but for now I have to buy them. I plan on getting some cowoco ewc next. Same goes for compost. I don't have a place to compost so I have to buy. I've yet to get any of that, but I haven't seen a need yet.I’ve heard great things about BAS probably great castings.
Don’t get me wrong I’ve Been doing organic gardening for 15+ years so I don’t think the average person has a entire garden shed packed with soil amendments but you slowly acquire 25kg bags every year and you end up with a stockpile of stuff eventually
