Dispensary weed is disappointing

I don't understand why all dispensary weed is the same price. Beer isn't all the same price. Good stuff should cost more and mid grade stuff should be cheaper.
I notice a lot of the commercial brand name products have the same price regardless of the quality. Majority of people don't want to smoke top shelf for the price, they want something in their price range or budget. This is where dealing straight with the grower would benefit those folks who want great cannabis because the price point may be closer to what they pay for mids.

I have had a number of friends vacation in Colorado for the recreational and they all talk it up until I show them something home-grown. They've brought some back and I've tried it. There's some decent bud going on but it still feels like something is holding them back.

I believe whats holding them back is they are treating weed like a crop it was never intended to be grown like this in major quantities. It goes back to mexcan brick weed grown on a commercial scale not that good but it would get you high and kill your lungs. Small time growers on the black market had so much better weed because they are charging for their expertise and dedication if you could find a grower like that. I’m just glad we are able to grow ourselves. And I find myself on herbs Facebook page now and again reading all these comments about how great the dispensary weed is from a punch of young hipsters that have no idea what good weed is talking about all the flavors when they smoke it and it takes every ounce of my being not to call them a bunch of idiots. Rant over sorry.

Also the only difference between Mexican brick weed and dispensary weed is the presentation.

I sometimes finds good stuff in NM but as the state program has expanded the smell has gone. I swear everything is harvested super early which cuts production costs, does well on THC test but has nothing else, I have never seen such big nugs with so little smell in my life. It is all fast grow THC with pharma nutes and fast dry. Dispensary weed all about THC and $, it is the malt liquor or gas station wine of the cannabis industry.

I was never partial to the idea of growing cannabis but the quality has taken a nose dive since legalization in the west has strained supply.
A late friend was on MMJ in NM. Every bit of bud he got sucked ass. Zero smell or taste. There was only one guy in the south of the state growing good stuff and he died. Of the cancer that got him into the game.

I have multiple professional grower friends here. Not surprisingly all grew before it was legal. I have continued to buy their products when I want a break. Theirs. The retailers they work for sell the same strains and the difference is amazing. You can’t turn out real quality in volume. We check trichs on each plant. Is it time?

The pros? These scattered samples show it’s ready and down come all 300 plants.

So just throwing this out...didn't read the other 4 pages yet...Hawaiian dispensary weed is pretty crappy...and they've taken to raising the price on the strains that are half way worth a damn. The cuts are really shitty imitations of well known varieties. They had a Jack Herrer that was 12% thc. I would think a good cut of that would probably be in the 16-20% range, and poorly grown 14%. Any way....You can tell lots of shortcuts were taken during the grow/flower and the genetics aren't the best by a long shot. Luckily I've made friends on the island and can get some decent outdoor. Highway Fucking Robbery! https://weedmaps.com/dispensaries/aloha-green

The news in Canada: our dispensaries are horrible also. I have my med card and also have been to a rec. dispensary and out of everything I’ve tried, it all fits the same discription.

Buds are dry, small and low density. They have minimal trichomes evident on their surface. They smell of an herbal hay smell, like wheatgrass or some nasty thing, and they smoke and taste like dried out grass. The high is the same between the 1:1 thc:Cbd stuff as the 15-20%+ thc stuff. Flat and weak. Lungs slightly toasted. Confusion, and then finally...regret.

Yeah dude only 3 companies operating on the island of Oahu and they are making a killing. One of them just opened a second store on the east side of the island. There was a bill to legalize recreational and it got shot down. I'm sure there was some money changing hands somewhere. The 3 stores don't want to lose their monopoly. They've got a captive customer base. 1.5 million people on this island and if only 1% have their med cards that's 15,000 people who can't go anywhere else. Fuck me, I just thought I was making a killing back in the day when I was getting 4k for a lb. At $530 and OZ that's 8,480 a lb. @ $24 a gram it's $10,896. I'm hating on them but I'd take it if I could get it.

One person can only properly take care of so many plants and to expect a crew to be as OCD is about impossible these days since everyone seems to have no pride another issue is massive growers chart feed instead of individual care

As much as I stick up for caregivers they still use banned substances while growing, which isn't alright.
I hope you mean to say, SOME, or MANY caregivers used banned substances....That's what you mean right?
Because as written, that is a blanket statement of complete falsehood.
Michigan is a big place, and in my parts, in my circles, many Caregivers are exactly what the name implies.
Growers are everywhere in MI....Caregivers, few and far between.

Yes that what I meant, sorry for any confusion

I'm in AZ as well and I couldn't agree more. Alot of the cannabis being grown and sold to dispensaries by 3rd parties is a complete disappointment. No terpenes, just a high THC. Not even a trace of CBD. I'm glad they're trying to put more CBD buds but they usually end up smelling like hay. I've smoked hemp with a better terpene profile than the stuff in shops. Sure, there's some buds that have somewhat impressed me. But not of recent.
Few commercial growers have a clue on how the 80-100 different terpines in cannabis interact in a synergistic fashion w/cannabanoids, to produce our desired results.
Only 15 have been thoroughly studied:
https://www.greencultured.co/15-cannabis-terpenes-explained-complete-visual-guide/

As for dispensaries, I hear nothing but complaints in this state.
And having sampled 10 of their products, I certainly hope when this state goes recreational; I will finally be allowed to supply said dispensaries with improved product.
