DIY carbon filter life span and resperatory concerns while using in bedroom closet..

im not as worried about the lifespan as i am the health issues if any exist. I ask this because i plan on running my carbon filter strait thru my closet door into my bedroom. does anyone know if there are any adverse effects toward humans (or more importantly my dog) with the pet store bought carbon? and please for the love of god no lame answers on how real filters are the only way to go... you ask a legitimate question you should get a legitimate answer..... there is nothing wrong with a " McGyver" grow. savy? thanks yall.

The only health hazard from carbon is its dust. Breathing that stuff in is not exactly good for you.
As you build your filter, just don't stir up a lot of dust or wear one of those paper wood working masks.
