What's the best way to set up a co2 regulator in a small 5x5 room? Any links or help is appreciated.
I made my own CO2 generator awhile back, here's some pic's of it.
I made it mostly because, I wanted to see if it actually works. It only raised the PPM's of CO2 by about 100. The problem is the CO2 that was dissipating out of the generator I made, had no pressure. So I tested it to see how much was coming out.
I simply put the tube coming out of the top under water in a bowl. I'd watch and count how many bubbles their were every minute. I was getting like 3-4 bubbles every minute. It gradually decreased over a month to only 1 bubble every minute, which would be the time to make some more.
Well when it came time make more, I was dissappointed on how the first batch went, and how much of pain in the ass it was to make, I said fuck it, and went out and spent $500 on a system. For $500 I got a CO2 tank, a regulator, and a monitor. With this system I know exactly how much CO2 is in the room. I keep it right at 1500 PPM's (which is optimal) during the light hours, and at night it drops down to 800 PPM's.
But if want to know how I made it.
Here's a list of parts and recipe:
1 - 7 Gallon water jug
Brass fittings
1/2 inch tubing
Silicone
Total in parts $12
For every gallon of water I mixed 4 cups of sugar
For every gallon of water I mixed 1 teaspoon of yeast.
You'll want to heat up the water enough to melt the sugar. Since I wa making 7 Gallons worth, I mixed 28 cups of sugar. Once the water cooled down enough I poured it into the 7 Gallon container. Then once the water was at room temperature I added 7 teaspoons of yeast. Sealed it up, Shook it up quite a bit, and with 24 hours I had CO2 coming out.
You can try it and see if it'll work for your area. But I tried it, and I found it was more of a pain in the ass than anything.
