SO you measured 41 degrees at 200w how long did it run for? Have you tried for couple minutes/ hours amd see whats the max temp? At 41 degrees should be good to go without heatsink

When I put a 6" fan on it the other day the temps lowered. I'l test it with a fan on it when I get a chance.
I'll take more pics of the chips to see what people think they might be

I bought some of these they are ok I don't really like them 2 of these are pretty much a nextlight I won't be ordering again.

I'm talking about the drivers that came with the system versus the upgraded ones. Will the original setup be as strong as a 600w HPS?
I bought 2 x boards on their own. From China. No heatsinks.
I bought the driver separately, in Europe.

You could use an HLG 600H 48A to run 2 boards but I think you'd need heatsinks.

They do full kits too.
2 x boards, 2 x heatsinks, 1 x driver meanwell 600, screws to fit board to heatsinks and hangers.
That should do away with a 600 HPS.

I cannot guarantee what chips are on these boards so if you're lòoking Genuine Samsung Lm561c top bin ones then look at the Quantum Boards by HLG.

Diodes are to far apart board is so damn big haha and quality just seems a little lower than most of the other stuff I have. They will grow great pot and are cheap but just a step below quantum or chilled.
Why don't you like having more space between the diodes? As long as the total power is appropriate to the space, having more space between the diodes can only be a good thing, because it means better heat dissipation.

I'd rather have more light than less heat the spaced diode is just a cost savings for the manufacturer. I don't mind using a heatsink personally but if budget is your main concern the spaced diodes are great. With them closer you can also run them softer while getting good penetration. So higher initial cost but more light per watt. I'm having some 6"x16" boards with 460 diodes made right now I'll let you know how that goes.

However these look even bigger than his boards, better chance of completely covering the cannopy with boards with no gaps. Maybe adding some samsung doublestrip around the edges of your intended light so you can tune the ppfd around the edges so it doesnt fall of so fast. Parmap looks good at 12''. Whats it like at 18/24''?

Another thing: if you run some fans on this board you should be able to keep it close to ambient. S6 in all its glory, but dropping temps from say 60 (fairly standard for qbs) to 30 is already increasing efficiency by about 5% which makes up for some of 561b not being top bin.

The heatsink doesn't cover the whole board still seems to work ok but I was annoyed I thought the heatsink would cover the whole pcb
When I ran the temperature gauge at the edges of board they were lower which might work out ok with a smaller heatsink.
