Tools I use:
-Leather gloves
-Hardware cloth 1/2"
-Zipties and garden wire string(ran out of zipties)
-Blue dream and coffee to keep me motivated
-Speaker so I don't get bored
-Wire snippers
-Measuring tape
Pictured above is some of the supplies.
Take your hardware cloth and pull it out to double the width you want your finished cages to be. I did measured at 15 inches because these are small cages just to protect seedlings and small clones until the have a decent root ball.
Cut down to size. And this what I was left with.
Next I'll overlap about 1/2 inch and tie the ends. Measure for the next cut. I used 36" wide hardware cloth so I cut right down the middle at 18""
For larger cages you can stop cutting it down at this point.
For smaller cages repeat the previous step with the two halves you made.
Should end up with 4 small cylinders.
Fold each one like so.
And again the opposite way and end up with a sorta square shape.
Next cut down each corner/fold a couple inches. The larger the basket the more you cut down.
From the previous step I now have four flaps. Fold all four towards the center overlapping each other and now you have the bottom of your cage. This is the final step.
