Diy reverse osmosis

That is a good idea but my dehumidifer doesn't produce enough water. You watch urban grower im assuming? haha

It would be pretty hard being that you need a special membrane with at least two chambers to filter the water. An easier method is to walk yourself on over to the local ghetto water store and fill a five gallon jug for $1.00. If that won't work, switch to organic gardening and go back to using good ol city tap & rain water.

Another idea if you have a window AC unit... Drill a hole in the bottom, run a hose to a bucket, and walla. Distilled water via condensation.

For that matter, you could also move the drain hose in your fridge in the kitchen. Usually they are positioned in a clip, close to the motor so that the heat from the motor will evaporate the condensation before it fills the drip tray.

If you are going to use A/C water... make sure you keep the ac and room very very clean.
My window unit starts getting gross after a couple years and requires a thorough clean or replacement.
I would suspect that using A/C water from a unit more than 2 years old would lead to some mold/fungus issues.

Sorry i tryied to read the thread two time instead of one but i am still not sure ... did anyone said that you can take the water from a dehumidifier to water your plant?

Just want to be sure.. !

Dehumidifier water, as long as the filters are cleaned, is basically distilled/ro. I hardly get to use my dehumidifier but the water comes out at about 20ppm and 6.5-7 ph.

Great , so if i dont smoke in my house and my dehumidifier is 1yr old ... The water in the bucket is probably the best choice i have between tap water and brita water..!

Good to know ! Thanks Genocide and stump
