Do CFLs make your buds compact and tight?

I was reading Jorge Cervantes book "Marijuana Grow Basics" and under the lighting section it said that CFLs make the buds tight and more compact.

If what the book says is true, what I was wondering was if I had some plants under two 400 watt hps/mh lights and some CFLs near the top-middle at the corners of the room and in the middle of the plants would it help them grow big, fat, dense colas if using the right strain?

I would really like to know because I plan to start growing my own medicine in a few months and want to know if this is worth trying so I can post results. Thank You.

i would say NO CFLS are not going to make a big dense buds.......A HPS is always going to make denser buds then a CFL light .......I dont read Jorges books anymore i find some of his shit to be outdated and/or just plain wrong

He's probably comparing them to old inefficient standard flouros. They had the same amount of power spread out 4' that CFLs have in the small bulbs. I have seen some great grows with CFLs it's all about how you use them and yeah putting some CFLs on the bottom portions of the plants would definately increase your yeild.
