Do i need osc fan on all the time? low temps problem.

Ok so i'm growing in an atic, its quite an open space and its getting colder every day so my fan's just blowing cold air on my plants. bout 16c with light on.

If i turn the fan off tems go up to about 24c under the light (400w hps) so i've put the fan on a timer 15mins every hour.

I'm about 3 days into flowering and the plants have had a healthy veg so do they still need constant motion to build strong branches?

Now that you've gone to flowering, it's going to be more about keeping your buds from moulding. Either keep doing what you've been doing (timer), or get a heater up there.

The major benefit of air flow is to exchange the air around the leaves. I have heaters on a thermostat in my rooms so the plants stay warm when the lights are off. In my separate clone room I use one of those stand alone oscillating heaters (about $20.00) with a built in thermostat - works great. Make sure you get one that turns off if it falls over (most do). That way you keep circulation and keep your girls warm

i have a 1500w oil rad but it rapes the electric, problem is the atic's so big the fan just blows in cold air in and warm air away and the atic never heats up, no insulation at all. might change timer to 30min on 30min off to keep the air moving better.

the cold air is having a kock on effect, the plants arn't using much water so the soil's taking forever to dry so the plants are showing signs of overwatering even tho i'm only watering once a week, this is making it hard to give them flowering nutes because i cant water them often.

will invest in 2 grow tents and another light/extractors etc next grow so i dont have these problems.
