Do regular household lights disturb sleep?

Everyone has said never have lights on when your plants are on lights off mode, I have always done this.

But my roommate has 2 little plants just sitting on the window sill 24/7, we have very few house lights close to it. A 46'' LCD T.V is about 5 feet away, some small 30 watt halogens are about 6 feet away but with strong coloured coverings over them. There is also fluorescent lighting about 15 feet away.

Would this lighting really disturb the plants.

but what i would like to know is whats dark to a plant? I thought some lights were not in the right wave length for plants. Or do all lights have just enough to keep it from going in off mode. I just thought that plants might have some kinda sense that would turn them off if not enough light is provided. Nature has even irregular lighting if you count the moon that reflects light, especially on a full moon.

Its a big question i know but i thought someone would have some light on the subject. (The pun was not intended) :) thx for the help, and for any otheres

the moon is a spectrum of light that does not affect the plant. however when we create lights and lighting it is in replication of spectrums that the sun produces. this is why our lighting affects a plants natural photosensitivity. the only known man made light that does not affect a plants photocycle is the light emmited from a green incandescent bulb.
