Do trichomes continue to develop after chop?

Do they continue to develop? NO! Do they start to degrade? YES! Dead is Dead.
Correct. As a trichome peeper with microscopes to get a real handle on what happens after the chop, the change is I believe 100% chemical, dehydrated weed is as dead as the dodo. I've observed a slow transition from cloudy at the time of chop, to seeing a larger percentage of amber over time. I have buds stored in storage jars for a year and the transition is obvious. Bud storage is as good as I can give here in the sub-tropics, storing in a draw under a bed in the spare room, so dark with a slow seasonal fluctuation in temps. Once cured, I open the jars every couple of months to check humidity and close up again. I'd say the greatest reason for my bud trichs to degrade from THC to CBD/CBN is the fact the ambient temp they're stored at would be 20-27c (70-80f) and that might be higher than optimum for long term storage.
