only when my government has me jumping threw hoops to give them reason not to take my ssi check for their fuck ups. and when none of my greenbeans will grow or give me anything to eat from. that is so fucking discouraging, to all out there never use mircle grow for shit its not for edibles and not for weed. ive had such big problems just using it from start to finish. last year was great though it worked threw all of them

One of the greatest hobbies in the world and the grow equipment pays for it self in no time, if you smoke a lot.

the regret i was speaking of is time and money. is it really worth it? i will grow for my personal consumption, and help other legal card holders with any overages i might have.

thank all you guys for the replies. do you reccomend buying used equipment, buying from online vendorsm or head to the local hydro store for deals.
You can do an indoor operation for substantially less that your listed budget. I just found a full 600W set-up INCLUDING ballast, fixture, and bulbs for $130...and at a hydro store no less. Go organic, start with Promix and all you will need are nutes...which are cheap at any Home Depot etc.

Just convert closets into grow rooms, they're perfect.

Good luck!

Hell no, glad i picked up the hobby/habit. Growing is a great experience, very rewarding, and much cheaper in the long run. You wont regret it just read up and pay attention to your plants needs

lots of good info. When yo make the move go for a a 400 hps for flower and no less. I'd get a t5 for veg seperating the area with paint tarp from walmart.. fox farm ocean forest soil for soil and nothing less for success. IF you want to screw with other soils do it after you have had success. Learn from the first grow by starting a journal so exp. people can guide you here. Do a lot of research on what nuts. you want to use because lots of money are spent on hyped crap nuts by marketing. You dont need to spend hundreds on nutrients. Next make sure you water less not more cause newbes always overwater and over nuts....always. Next air curculation with a fan and another inline fan with a carbon scruber attached. read a ton here.

I've been growing consistantly since 1988, 4 crops a year, and haven't regreted it one day. My wife might feel differently though. LOL

Hahaaha!! I know exactly what your saying "wife" not feeling the same!
A few years back I honestly believe mine tried to sabatoge mine!! Now she has chilled
At to a "point"! Because she knows now that the "girls" are going to be around aslong as I am! ;)
And them being in "her" bathroom doesn't help! She calls it the jungle. :) haha!
I can't wait till the tax check comes! She promised me 800$ to get um outta there! So
I think that's a good trade!! When I get the $, I will be getting a outdoor building & decking
It out , & sinking more $ into the bean collection! ;)

I started growing "accidentally" when my cousin had a 3 week old plant he couldnt keep anymore so i kept it cause it seemed like such a waste to throw it out for this long time stoner. Only got about an eighth on that first plant but i didnt and wouldnt stop since then i love watchin every step of the process and knowing i grew it gives you a sense of pride while smokin like no other!

Luckily for me my wife loves it as much as I do. Well smoking it anyway, she does enjoy checking on the indoor girls. She stays pretty hands off outside though.

Thanks bro. Your friend, Dank.

Just to point out I grabbed a 600 tent, fan+filter, grow bags nutrients and bags of promix for about 500 easy so with a 1000 to 1500 as your budget you'll be more than finebin getting started all the way to harvest

My advise to you is to get what you want the first time. If you cant afford it save up. You will waste money buying a setup to "hold you over" and then buying what you really wanted.

Also, you will get super addicted. So be prepared :)

I'm not really that much of a smoker -- maybe a few times a months when I'm feeling overwhelmed and anxious. I totally agree with 3PoundsofWeeden -- growing is therapeutic by itself. There's something about taking control of one's well-being in such a simple, positive way. Nothing is more depressing to me than going to a doctor who shoves a prescription in my face. I'm not say marijuana is the antidote to all pain and illness, but it's an antidote to my own challenges. Why shouldn't I be able to take a small step to ease my mind, in the same way that I try to eat well and exercise? Why is the first stop on the "cure" train such a drastic one as swallowing what the pharmaceutical companies are making money off of without even thinking about it?

So grow your own!!!! You will get much better smoke that's more tailored to your needs -- and you can break even money-wise on your first grow. After that, you're saving money and taking care of yourself.

What could be better than that?

You'll regret things if you have safety/life issues. Things to look out for include IMO:

make sure your grow is fire proof.

tell no one or as few people as possible. Loose lips sink ships.

never look directly at the lights, it will effect your vision if you do. You should get some shade 5 brazing goggles to work with the plants if the lights are on.

Don't spray a flower plant. You'll get mold. If you smoke mold you can get bronchitis.

I found having lots and lots of bud around made me a little unproductive. LOL. Make sure you don't abuse it. You should have balance in your life.
