Maybe the police saw that guy and said: "I bet he likes spicy food in his face" and that's why they did it!

But seriously fuck anyone who sides with the fucking pigs. There are good cops (very few) and pigs (the majority). Pigs are the people who pepper spray others for no reason, and bust down your legal grow op solely because they can. I'm surprised anyone on a grow site would try to back up a bunch of bacon.

I'm pretty sure my point was about the chanting. Yelling "shame on you" a thousand times is childish and fucking pointless. You're not going to change the cops minds if you chant it a million times.

And the "dumb" part is standing up to the authorities and then being outraged when they overreact, every one of them and every one of you, KNOW IT'S COMING. Then you all act shocked when they're brutal. I'm not condoning the police action, I'm simply pointing out how stupid it is to expect anything else. It doesn't matter if they were doing nothing wrong, it doesn't matter if they are peaceful, ass kickings are coming, if they don't accept that going in, then they shouldn't be there at all. That's the "reality", whether you like it or not.

the fact that we are expected to accept it is what is trying to be pointed out by these people.

it's working. people are starting to question police tactics.

the whole world is watching. :)

word. when people say what do they want? they want to be heard. they want a system where the majority of people have a hand in making the decision. they want a community involvement. which leads into the accusations, the camps are dirty, the camps are becoming safe havens for homeless; these are true statements BECAUSE the state has stopped taking care of these people and now these occupy settlements have begun offering these first level support system. you cut housing vouchers, health care, food stamps, unemployment and people are going to get ugly..

its funny how obvious what this occupy is about and how its messy operation is an example of democracy. people forget how messy REAL democracy gets..

It's a fair point. But it isn't going to change anything. Yeah, a few cops might get suspended or even fired, but I have serious doubts any real change is going to come about from this. Maybe I'm wrong, but the message has seemed to be to convoluted up to this point. Yes, I've heard the excuses about how that's a good thing and that's the point, but until the message is concise enough for the masses to digest and support, I don't see this going very far.

I guess I'm more than a little frustrated and annoyed with the incessant and pointless chanting. It really is childish and ineffective when you boil it down. People making lucid arguments and proposing changes with various media will draw me and and get my attention every time, a group of people chanting three words a thousand times, endears noone to your cause and makes individualists like myself, hightail it for the peace and quiet of my home.

But if we get our asses kicked on TV everyone at home on their asses can SEE it's fucked up.
Everyone can SEE that NORMAL ass people are being MACED, ARRESTED, DRAGGED PLACES, FUCKED WITH.

Do you KNOW what the media does now adays?

Even in the 60's...

THINK

THINK

AND
They didn't just say "Shame on you"

They also said...

"You use your weapons, we use our voice"

"Don't mace your children"
AND

"Fuck the police, from ... to Greece"

Oh yes and as long as you hide nothing bad will ever happen. Just hunker down in your house, watch American Idol and you will wake up and all this will just be a bad dream.

Shame on you.

evil only exists when good people fail to act. don't let your frustration, apathy, or laziness (you pick your poison) be the excuse that lets evil reside..

it will all die down for winter, no one protests in the street with snow flying BUT it will turn into a ground fire, simmering underneath just waiting for some heat to reignite it. If it doesn't get better by spring, we will see its return but probably not as happy go lucky as it is now..

Same thing in Denver.

Maybe just because it was Sunday, but no one was there when I went to my dispensary :(

Someone said they got run off a couple days ago, and had to go somewhere else.
Maybe same for the guys over by you.

Occupy Oakland has been shutdown. as of right now there are no protesters.

it's over.

It may be interrupted here and there, but the movement is far from over. Take today, for example. The expected failure of the debt commission has come to pass. It will likely be a bloodbath in the markets tomorrow. Just the anticipation of it brought the Dow down 2%. I don't expect anyting substantive to happen for more than a year.

So, even as these SOBs debate whether to cut SS and Medicare, they are destroying the life savings of millions. It's dusgusting.

That's why people are out there.
