Does a clone retain the gender of its mother?

Hey everyone,

I just topped my plant and just dipped the cutting in rooting hormone to grow it as a clone.
If I immediately put the clone into flowering and it turns out to be a female does that mean that the topped plant will also be a female?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, in essence with little exceptions it is an exact copy.
No exceptions at all.. a clone is exactly that an exact replication of the plant it came from..
It will be an exact match of all DNA of the plant it came from, when in essence it's still the same plant..
All you did was cut a small.bit off of it and are now growing it out..
And FYI, clones are technically the same age as the plant it was donated from..

The only thing that can make clones appear to be different from the plant off of which they were taken is their nurturing, or growing conditions.

racer I was just trying to avoid the hassle of people coming up with the genetic drift that in years past always seemed to have cropped up. Yes I totally agree it is the same plant, same age totally the same plant.
I took about a year off of posting here because of the conflicts that always came up in the past, after reading many posts the past several days I see not much have changed other than the names of the members posting. I didn't mean to cause any confussion.

google the word clone and you will have your answer.. a clone is what it states. the exact replica of its source... as it will also have the same issue's the source itself has. any kind of bad traits will show as they did from the source .. in other words if the mother is a pile of shit the clone will also be a pile of shit.. choose your clones wisely because they are twins of what there cut from..
