A friend of mine suggested that I just cut the clone, put it into the root riot..give it some water and put the dome on. Thats it. No spraying or anything.
Different for everyone... local store assured me that theres no reason for a dome. I tried cloning good 9 clones 2 seperate times. All died slowly... finally i put a dome and misted 2 times a day and had roots in 3 days no b.s.
Some peoples rooms im assuming has more humidity and doesnt need dome. Mine is at high 50s humidity and i needed dome for roots. I foliar spray now on clones too.
I spray the domes to keep the humidity up. I have never had a clone mold and in fact have only gotten bud mold outdoors. If you get mold on your clones or veggin plants then you have other issues in your grow.
OP try it both ways what works for me or your friend might not work for you as everyones room is a little different.
I dome no spray... sometimes I spray if it is wilting but usually if the dome is not too oversized I need not spray..... the medium makes the humidity in the dome rise enough that it condenses on the sides of the dome and I just wipe it out in the morning and at night it works
i pop mine in an old fish tank with the lid on and the light on. no spraying but humidity in the tank will get up to 80% - 90% just from the moisture in my medium
I don't use any domes at all just hot tap water in the soil till it steams then I stick the clone in there mist the leaves and wala a week later I got roots then star with Stealth Ro Water.
Its kinda pointless, you want relative humidity buildup in the dark, moist root zones, not the green leaf zones.. without fanning properly you give molds a huge chance as well as root rot.. better to use an aeroponic cloner or just cubes and dome with no misting only fanning daily.
