Does HPS take longer to finish flowering than MH?

Im just curious because my first 6 grows were using MH and one room the entire way through my grow.

I know HPS provides thicker buds and we recently bought a grow tent and Im into my first grow with it. Its great by the way. anyways, it came with a hps/mh conversion and since I have a veg room it's just using the HPS light.

Im on my 5th week of flowering and Im noticing only a few trichs are brown and on some of the plants none are. I still got a few weeks to go at least, but Im just wondering if the process is slower. Not that Im in a hurry. just curious if there is a difference in flowering times.

Also, one of the strains was like 85-90% brown trichs at the end of last week and it was in the back, so I hadn't noticed until then, but I harvested that one and its drying. It was the only one of that strain, so Im guessing just a faster plant obviously.

The UV in MH pumps trich production into overdrive because it's a protection for the plant and a biological response to the UVB(and UVA to a lessor extent) radiance.

I'd assume the MH and HPS would finish fairly close to one another(probably within a week, maybe two), with the MH probably being a bit longer due to the fuller, bluer spectrum, and less 'force flowering' deep red spectrum.

I've also noticed lower sections(hairs) of my plants that are chronically shaded tend to turn amber much quicker than the tops of the plants getting direct radiance. More darkness tends to accelerate ripening. And then there's the genes and care of the plant... which is major.

As always, just keep your eyes peeled, they'll let you know when they're ready.
