Does putting ice in pots do anything in flower??

Hey guys seeing if anyone else in here has had any luck adding ice to their pots in flower to give the buds a purple color..I’m now in like day 50 something of flower and have been doing this for several days out of the week but it doesn’t seem to be affecting the color much. All I’m getting is the yellowing towards the end..I do feel it has made the nugs denser but that’s about it.

Dude were you high when you thought of this idea?
I try to be lmao Hey man I’ve heard a lot of old schoolers saying this trick works it’s not hurting the plants and I can’t get my temps cold enough to do it naturally with air temperature so it was worth a shot lol..Plus it kinda made sense to me considering I’ve seen plants turn purple due to being in cold climate..

Yer your going to hear a lot of dumb stuff you should avoid. That colour you seek actually means nothing to the bud or high and merely a product of plant stress :-)
I do agree it is a sign of stress.Just feel it was worth the experiment. All I wanted was some purple tint is that to much to ask for?

You don't ice the root zone (at least I've never heard that, doesn't make much sense either, you cool the foliage. High 50s, low 60s should do if it's a purple strain.
I’d have to say this would make a lot more sense. I’ve been struggling to keep the tent at 75 during the lights on due to the hps tent being in the same small room.Id really like to suck some cold air from outside I’ve just been to lazy I guess..Thanks for the reply man I appreciate the input..Some people like to laugh or diss something because they haven’t tried it or it isn’t what they do..I’ve had several great grows and this was just something I wanted to test and see for myself. The plants are not hurting from it so I didn’t see the problem with trying. And like I said I feel the buds have really started to swell up and get dense so again no harm no foul.

Boiling water is a way to kill the roots but have them still uptake water soyou effectively are flushing the plant if i remember.

This is actually a fun one to try but born again from crazier times when things were cooler. It aint gona do much though :-)

If you are forcing purple with cool root zone temps you are also loosing yield and potency by denying the plant access to phosphorous.
I got four and a half oz off the last lemon kush I did and honestly I feel these lemon are far more dense then last time so hopefully the yield isn’t effected to much.Out of the three strains the lemon was my least favorite but I didn’t know that when I was making clones lol My gorilla glue 4s are by far my favorite. I can’t wait to flip these cause their gonna be awesome.I plan on flipping three after the lemon are done and ima veg the other two longer and then finish them in the five by five.Theu will also be scrogged..They May look a little droppy cause they needed water when I took the picture lol
