Does stacking wattage work? Five 75W = 375W?

Ok, I am in a huge rush to increase the veg time that my plants will have.
This is my first grow, it is an outdoor one but I want to use my room to increase the veg time on my plants because the summer solstice in Australia has already passed.
I have just planted these plants two days ago.
So, in my rush and unfortunate money situation, I'm wondering if I can just hook up 5 standard 75W light bulbs to run over my 4 plants for a few hours every night to compensate for the increasing lack of daylight.
Obviously I want my plants to veg for about 4-5 weeks, but I fear they will start flowering very early due to my late start.
My question is, does stacking 5 75W globes work to create the light needed to continue veg?

How many plants?

What do you mean by stacking?

Why not veg inside where you have total control when using a timer?

sure, what you want to do will work. As long as the plants get more than 12 hours total light per 24 hour period it will stay in vegetative state.

Sadly I do not have the budget to set up a grow room, nor do I have the space.
By "stacking", I mean are 5 standard bulbs that you have in your ceiling the same as a 400W light that you would use in your grow room?
I want to run these in my shed at night from sundown to midnight. This will give the plants about an 18-6 to 17-7 light dark period.
But will those bulbs be strong enough to imitate sunlight?

Ahh, thankyou. Was just looking for verification. Thanks.
Also, these lights are CFL. So I have failed in my sub forum selecting.
My bad! Thankyou.

yes this will work but you might find they stretch a little m8 but with good sun intensity you should be fine as long as your temps dont drop below 10 degrees at night by the time they finish flowering you will be fine

Yes, Watts are additive. You got it right.

What you want to do will work, HOWEVER, if you mess it up and forget about your plants (forget to turn the lights on) you could cause undue stress on your girls and cause them to herm. Be careful 'cause I'm almost sure you don't want seeds. :bigjoint:
