Does the grow room need to be extremely clean?

I am thinking of adding some plants in a grow hanger where I used to keep little piggies… I removed the pigs a week ago. Would it work if I turn it into a grow room? Like will the hygene part play a big part in growing even if I put the plants not on the ground but on tables? thanks

Your growing area should be as clean as you can possibly get it. You can use something as simple as tarps to cover the ground or place on walls keeping the outside environment out of the area

Any grow area should be as clean and sterile as possible. Pig shit is full of pathogens too. It’s why it’s not to be used in fertilizer or on crops that are to be eaten or smoked.

Bleach is the last thing to use if any fungal pathogens. Black, grey and white mold in particular. It induces a mass spore release that is not killed by the chlorine before it evaporates. A definite need to know thing. Great for all else pretty much.

When dealing with this situation I always ask, what are your parameters on the grow, cause you can believe it, it will grow in there! Your biggest factor, of course is the the pest, disease, humidity, power(if needed), air exchange, etc... If you cleaner up, isolate as much as possible, and run hardy strains, sky is the limit! Be careful though, no point in putting lipstick on a pig =p
