Trump Organization and CFO Allen Weisselberg Expected to Be Charged Thursday - WSJ

Trump Organization and CFO Allen Weisselberg Expected to Be Charged Thursday
The Manhattan district attorney’s first charges in three-year probe will focus on alleged tax-related crimes at former president’s company

The Manhattan district attorney’s office is expected to charge the Trump Organization and its chief financial officer with tax-related crimes on Thursday, people familiar with the matter said, which would mark the first criminal charges against the former president’s company since prosecutors began investigating it three years ago.

Any charges against the Trump Organization and Allen Weisselberg, the company’s longtime chief financial officer, would be a blow to former President Donald Trump, who has fended off multiple criminal and civil probes during and after his presidency. But the initial charges won’t implicate Mr. Trump himself, his lawyer said, falling short of expectations about the high-profile probe that included a battle over his tax returns decided by the U.S. Supreme Court in the prosecutors’ favor.

The defendants are expected to appear in court on Thursday, the people said.

The Trump Organization and Mr. Weisselberg are expected to face charges related to allegedly evading taxes on fringe benefits, the people said. For months, the Manhattan district attorney’s office and New York state attorney general’s office have been investigating whether Mr. Weisselberg and other employees illegally avoided paying taxes on perks—such as cars, apartments and private-school tuition—that they received from the Trump Organization.

A sole focus on fringe benefits would be unusual, former prosecutors said. It is rare to charge an individual or company for failure to pay taxes on employee benefits alone, though such charges are used as part of larger cases. Some lawyers said that if prosecutors were going after the Trump Organization for fringe benefits alone, when few other companies face such charges, it would risk making the probe look biased.

Trump Org, CFO indicted by New York grand jury: reports
Criminal indictments were filed against the Trump Organization and its chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg, by a grand jury in Manhattan on Wednesday, The Washington Post reported, citing people familiar with the case.

The indictments against both will be kept sealed until Thursday afternoon, leaving the specific charges unknown but several sources told The Post the charges relate to allegations of unpaid taxes on benefits given to Trump Organization executives.

Two people told the Post that Weisselberg is expected to surrender Thursday morning, and later that day he’s expected to be arraigned in front of a state court judge. The Trump Organization is also expected to be arraigned.

Trump Org blasts criminal probe against Weisselberg: 'Scorched earth' attempt to go after Trump
The Trump Organization is blasting a grand jury criminal indictment against executive Allen Weisselberg and the organization for tax-related charges, chalking it up to a "scorched earth" attempt to damage former President Trump politically.

"Allen Weisselberg is a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who has worked at the Trump Organization for 48 years," a spokesperson for the Trump Organization said on Thursday. "He is now being used by the Manhattan District Attorney as a pawn in a scorched earth attempt to harm the former President. The District Attorney is bringing a criminal prosecution involving employee benefits that neither the IRS nor any other District Attorney would ever think of bringing. This is not justice; this is politics."

"They leak, they lie, and they campaign based on information that has already been gone through in other of the many investigations I have put up with," Trump said in a statement. "Now they just leaked that we were given one day, today, to make our case about things that are standard practice throughout the U.S. business community, and in no way a crime. They also know that no matter how strong our case, they will work hard to embarrass us and the Republican Party."

oh snap.....

"Trump Payroll Corporation and its Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg with 15 felony counts in connection with an alleged tax scheme stretching back to 2005, in an extraordinary legal development against the former President's namesake company.
Prosecutors in court said the counts include a scheme to defraud, conspiracy, criminal tax fraud, offering a false instrument for filing and falsifying business records."

Purp walked him and all! He's been going to work with Donald at Trump tower and I'm sure Donald has the heat on him and was spending "quality" time with him. I wonder how the banks and his lenders are gonna react?

This is just the opening salvo, the hits will keep coming over the summer. Some say it might take two years to put Trump away, but I think it will be shorter, Donald is stupid, lazy and impulsive and the case will be easy to make. Once they start turning over rocks, lot's of slime will be uncovered, if he owes a pile of state taxes, he owes an even bigger pile of federal taxes. The Trump org was a criminal organization from the beginning and Trump's personal financial instrument for corruption and crime, follow the money.

oh this is classic...

.and orange avenger even signed the ck's too

oh this is good
They are gonna squeeze the weasel until he squeals or goes down with Donald, this is just the first step, there will be superseding indictments for other crimes and indictments against his kids and other Trump org executives. The rats will be running and squealing with a traffic jam at the prosecutors door before it's over.

BTW NY state is also uncovering federal crimes and tax evasion too, so once they collect up all the evidence, the feds might use it to indict Trump as well. They might not bother though, since NY will probably put Trump away for life and he can't be federally pardoned there.

I'm pretty sure Russians financed his golf properties with laundered money and they are losing money, I can foresee a cash flow problem looming for Trump soon and failure to make loan payments. Now he's got other republicans like DeSantis threatening his "stop the steal" scam and looking to control the republican party, they know what's coming Donald's way!
