Don't make the same mistake I made on lighting and 12/12 change

People gotta stop being afraid to check their plants at night...I go in there constantly checking humidity...just a quick peek, only takes a few secs with a dim light...I couldn't imagine going two months and not physically looking at them at night.
I am afraid of nothing. I simply didn't check until I had left it open one night

Lol that's who taught me. So I have no frame of reference. Just seems crazy not to. I've caught lights staying on multiple times for different reasons this way.
What time does your dark cycle start? I started doing noon on / midnight off since LEDs could handle warmer conditions, but it used to be 5pm on / 5am off. There's no way I'm getting up at the crack of dawn to check everyday.

Exactly my point, a little light doesn't bother them. After I water, I check them a few times once night rolls around to make sure my humidity is staying below 50%. My 9 watt desk lamp 8ft away isn't gonna do shit to my plants for the 5 secs it is on with my tent half unzipped. No seeds here and no accidentally leaving the lights on for hours at a time. OPs fear of looking at night lead to 2 months of not realizing the lights were on the whole damn time. Dumb.
I once again fear nothing about going in and checking them. Dumb? Whatever. I bet once in your life you did something dumb.

Every grower I know makes a habit of being there at lights out snd lights on every time. I've been meaning to instal a camera for this purpose. But my trol master warns me if lights stay on.
Which has happened to me when there was a power outage. The quick off and on can sometimes contact weld the contacts on the relays. And leave the lights on.
Is a trol master a product I can purchase?

Of course I did...and I got called out for it. Just like you are now. All part of the learning process.

So if you weren't afraid to look at night, you did it on purpose then? Doesn't matter, whatever your reason was, it was dumb because you're in the spot you are now.

The only way you're gonna salvage anything is to plant them outside somewhere secluded and check them after you return a month later...when they go 12/12 they are still gonna stretch so find a place with some tall trees and bushes to help hide them. Wish you the best of luck.

If I could, I certainly would but that's just a luxury I cannot afford...a 12/12 schedule that would allow me to do that in addition to not being trapped at home, go to work, have a social life, do shit on the weekends and sleep in just does not exist.

I imagine he simply didn't know. Until you've had a timer or a pump bite you in the ass you don't know LOL You don't get 'twitchy' about your grow until you've seen the myriad ways you can fuck it up LOL

Yes you can buy the hydro x controller. Made by Trolmaster. It has a light sensor to tell you if the lights stayed on outside of the light hours. A pulse pro will also tell you. Lots of devices can do this that have. A photo sensor. But the Trolmaster handles the dehumidifer, temps etc everything.

After seeing so many people experience failures of their equipment, I made a point of having enough shit in reserve to replace anything that will just up and take a shit on me when I least expect it...learning from other people's mistakes has been my goal after making enough of my own haha

I invent nothing.
I collect ideas from those with more experience and those more clever than me.

Buy a remote WiFi temp and humidity sensor. Mine is running now along with several that are only bluetooth.

The sensors run around $50 for 1 with wifi.

Why?

Because you dont need to look to know if the lights are on. If the temps stay up they are on. If it goes down they are off. I check my remote sensors once or twice a night while sleeping when I wake up. But it even has alarms i.e. if it goes above or below a set # it will beep you. So it's more my obsession than a concern with actual problems.

$40-$50 for remote wifi sensor
$10 to $15 per bluetooth sensor

Problem solved!
