Dr. Oz discusses MMJ

Anyone catch the segment today? Montel Williams hit on some awesome key points and the main guy from NORML was there. One of the loudmouth audience members against MMJ actually looked like a heroine addict.

I had to give an "OOOOOOOO!" when Montel pointed out the doctor on the discussion panel that is against legalizing medical usage is actually contracted by a UK MMJ company to help get it legal over there but not in the US.

If you missed it, I'm sure it will be all over the net shortly.

Small blurb about it online

I tivo'ed it but missed the first 8 minutes. Had to go to his website to see it. I highly recommend watching the feeds from the website because after watching the show...they cut out a LOT that isn't cut from the embedded videos on the site.

Hey hey rzza!

Dude, if Kodank got his avatar taken away, I'm glad this chick didn't....

Sorry. Anyways. It says that it was aired on Tuesday, but I timed it to change the channel to it at 3PM just to check. ^_^

Hope some of you got to catch the airing of the show...but I recommend watching the vids on his site as they didn't cut out parts there like they did for the airing.

That lady Dr on the panel opposes legalization/decriminalization because she works for GW Pharma/Hortifarm who are trying to push Sativex as the ONLY cannabis product to be legalized in the UK so they can test addiction with it there before unleashing it on the US.

Couldn't help but pity the bitch really. She tried to pass off 'we noticed' as actual clinical proof of teenage use being on the rise.

Nice to know this clear message, of how WEAK and uneducated the opposition to cannabis really is, got to a completely different demographic. One that would not go out of their way to inform themselves but are glad to believe everything Oz says. Fish in a barrel. Before you know some of these people are going to be looking for pain relief and they will think about cannabis first maybe before eating all of those oxy's.

I love how she kept saying "we have no hard evidence on a state by state basis, only what we've heard from communities". That's bullshit right there. There is evidence and a ton of literature that shows a decline. Hell, look at Portugal and the decriminalization of drugs there. Pretty funny to watch that female doctor get a tight lipped smirk on her face when she kept getting her ass handed to her left and right.

I love how the two "addiction clinic" workers wanted to quote numbers and increases in patients addicted to marijuana. Too bad no one pointed out that most possession charges tend to go like this in court, "You can go to jail or you can go to an addiction program". Um, how many "addicted to marijuana" patients are there under court order? Even she admitted that only 1 in 10 people get addicted to MJ. Well no shit, how many people are addicted to Facebook? If you have an addictive personality...you can become addicted to anything.

Another key point she pushed was they are against inhalation of a drug. When inhalers for asthma (and the fact they are working on inhale system for insulin - diabetics) was pointed out...she changed to "burn and inhale". Again, no one pointed out edibles or liquid drops. BUT, Montel and the other doctor pointed out there is zero evidence that smoking MJ increases respiratory complications...and in fact (as they stated) it has been proven that there is a molecule in MJ that retards the growth of cancer cells in the lungs.

It is sad how uneducated about MJ that the opposition is. But I rejoice in the fact that those people are leaving positions of power soon and the generation coming in is more open minded and ready for change.
