I’ve noticed that the new California light works solarxtreme series advertises driverless COB’s. Is that even possible?

It's not "driverless", it's on the pcb/cob wafer karma

No ac-ac leds outside of a lab

Haven't looked at the clw fixture though.

Running 9 50w so far so good. I think the true purpose of 12v vs 110v is energy savings. Not sure but after 1 month that is the only difference I can see. Oh and they are a hell of alot cheaper

Really? Finally some new comes out. I used the Mars Cree COB light for Veg room. It worked well. I just think they can decline the price a little.

Gday all ,I'm using cob atm but looking at getting strips and rigging my own light show, what are the better strips to go for and do the diodes need to be covered.

You're welcome, still rocking cmh?.......Or want to come back to the led side?
I’ve been using both for awhile now. Trying to decide if I have room for another light. The CLW COB’s caught my attention because of their unusual design and low price point. The Canon by Blacksail Marketing is looking pretty attractive as well.

Waterproof up to 2ft deep????? o_O
I would uhhhh, I'd like to see a demonstration of that. I really would.
LOL lots of beer and a kiddy pool might have been used looks too big to fit in a normal sized bath tub. I went to the actual web site and he says something about LOL it is only waterproof on the front or light emitting side the side with he wires might leak a little bit LOL. Dudes making some bank though if he is actually selling them. I priced everything out and I could build a gamma blaster for around 200 to 250 dollars. He is selling them for 900 I could build one in about a hour that's over 600 dollars a hour.
What a giant piece of shit that thing is.
Come on man , you know you gonna get trolled by the gammablaster fan club in here, they quite upset when people dis on their top of the line high tech LED.

Here is a test of some 'driverless' COBs:

Dudes full of good info. But I cant take the excessive spit and smacking noise that comes out of his mouth. It sounds like stirring a bowl of mac n cheese. it's like he has an unusual amount of spit in his mouth. All the time.
