droopy plants... root bound?? +rep

okay so these 2 plants were root bound in there 10 inch pots about a week or 2 ago. so i put them in 2 1/2 gallon buckets. i flushed them due to a ph problem. i think the flush made the roots grow like crazy. i flushed 3 days ago and the soil is dry today??? the soil is REALLY compact, i cant even get my finger through it, and about 1/2 inch under the top of the soil i can see alot of roots. could this b the reason why my plants are so droopy? they look over watered but the soil is dry. and they are getting worse everyday. any idea of what is causing them to b soo droopy and lifeless? thanks alot

Could be they want water? you said it was dry?

problem is that over and under watering both show droopy leaves, but note that with underwatering the stems will tend to drop as well

the stems are pretty droopy. im jus worried that if i water em the roots will just grow through the top of the soil.

When you transplanted them, what kind of soil/medium did you use? Did you pack it down alot? Do you have drainage holes at the bottom of the bucket?

i use black gold soil, and i made sure to leave the soil really loose, and they have drainage holes on bottom, they drain great. when i flush there done dripping in about 20 mins.

i can tell that that have used all the roots space available. i can see roots through the drainage holes in the bottom, and coming through the top of the soil. im transplanting to 5 gal buckets in the morning weather they are root bound or not because im switching to 12/12 in a few days and want to get it done befor it messes with the flowering process

yeah. you need to water them; your yield will improve in a larger bucket since you are hand watering, but they need to be watered - a lot - with a normal amount of food and a proper pH.

its not transplant shock. they have grow probly 9 inches since i transplanted em. heres a pic of befor the transplant.

or not enough fresh air?? the only other things i could think of. i think ill just leave it alone till transplant tomorrow so i dont mess it up more

you need to something like a pencil or i use my moisture meter and slow and easy do not force it but airate your soil you said it was super compact your roots might not be able to breathe right i had same problem its the same princible as airateing your yard hope that helps airate and water real good should perk up soon

iight bro thanks, i wus thinkin of that but i didnt wanna disturb the roots since there so close to the top of the soil ya know

really those pics don't look droopy at all.. I mean the leafs don't have boners - but that is stage / nutrients / atmospheric its not an easy thing to make happen

normally you will notice droop after watering then they poof back up - if ur in soil, so maybe you are not gettin the poof because of the oxygen thing, that would make a lot of sense... idk man.

yea i was scared too but the plants actually send out roots across the top of the soil too search out as much water as possible also you will feel some roots breaking this doesnt hurt them just dont go nuts (too much force or too fast) and shell be fine

yea i know there not really droopy, but they hav been getting droopier the last couple days. it started with jus a lil bit of the new growth but now almost every leaf is cupping downwards. and thanks alot growman 09 :) ill deffinatly do that
