Dropping RH in a 2x4 tent

Depends on your budget, main thing is it stays in your budget..

Most new dehumidifiers offer Energy Star these days..

Homelabs 50 pint would be your best options but again that depends on your budget.

Humidity doesn't lower in heat, in fact it kind of has the opposite affect..

Cool air can not hold moisture as well as heated air.

Hot places tend to be more humid than cool places because heat causes water to evaporate faster.

Raise. Especially if adding the light makes bigger healthier plants that need more water input. But adding heat to the room will raise humidity in my experience

what is the complete path of air via your extraction setup? do you draw or dump air outside the house?

Yeah, I unfortunately can’t vent to the outside, so I really just end up recirculating the humidity over and over at the moment. A dehum for my room is currently sounding like the best option

Tragically I can’t vent out at the moment, it’s currently an endless cycle without an alternative dehumidifying option for the room or tent

I was venting outside last run, but I had to move my tent around the room, and can no longer vent out. I never saw such high humidity until I stopped venting out

You are intaking the same air as you are exhausting?

Yeah this needs to be changed asap if that's the case.

I would not recommend intaking the same air that you have already exhausted.

exhaust the air the plants have already used to another room and replace that air with fresh new air for them

One good way to cause RH to climb is to leave stagnant air unmoved.. You need to move that air out and around a lot more.. Air needs to be exchanged for sure, there is no way around that.

Yeah I definitely understand that and would ideally love to vent out, but as of now I can not vent out. Does a dehum require a vent out? If so, maybe I could vent out with the dehum and leave the tent in it’s current position. But from what I understand a dehum pulls in humid air, and pushes out the dry air I would like to keep, while spitting out the moisture from its tubing

I’ve pulled runs without venting out of the apartment, without a drop in quality of bud, but man, I would love to find a solution to this. I’m more worried about the rh than recycling air at the moment, but figuring everything else out would be so nice too ;( my girlfriend is awesome, but I don’t want to take over our shared whole apartment with a grow by running 10 foot tubing across the floor again

Unless you are running a complete "sealed controlled" room "which you are not from the sounds of it" you will need to do what you can to exhaust that air.. Even in sealed rooms they have ac units and air systems that help keep the air fresh.

Also, my apartment is a multi story next door neighbor side by side type apartment, with an active no growing policy, and my last run got skeeeetchy, because the vented out air was so dank, even going through a brand new 8 inch tubing carbon filter

I’m your opinion, should I find a way to vent out with a small quiet in-line fan first, or deal with the rh with a dehumidifier first?

The cheaper option of the 2 would be the inline fan to blow out, I wouldn't expect this to lower your RH by a lot but I did see some improvements from just the exhaust in my room setup..

It's ironic that your problem is inline with what I was dealing with when I started redoing my flower room.

RH was also the reason I opted to try and seal the room off more, I wanted to be able to control that more..

Your temps will be unmanageable with a large enough dehumidifier to bring that down without proper venting
