Dry in only a week?

I have read on the FAQ here that you should hang dry for 2-3 weeks. I live in a colder dry climate and the buds are already dry, after 1 week. Is it advised to wait anyways or should I jar them and begin the curing process?
 
If they are already pretty dry you can start the curing process. usually it takes more than a week but if they are getting pretty dry you don't need to wait any longer.
 
thanks. About to chop and get them in some jars! SO EXCITED. I have probably smoked about a quarter already, picking off the plant everyday :)
 
It really really depends on the density of your buds as well... Especially since there are a lot of CFL growers on RIU. CFL nugs aren't always as dense as HID and will take less time to dry.. Sometimes a lot less time..
 
Yes...thats me. It was a CFL grow. They were dry.....they have been jarred for like 3 hours, they seem wet again, but I guess that is "sweat" I have read about. I have aired it out twice.

It smells so damn good once jarred. Sweet mama. It was bag seed, but its bright orange with a slight fruity smell and has sooooo much THC. I named it Orange Crystal. :D
 
Well, is it accurate at this point in terms of weight or does it need to be cured for a week or so to really dry out? I don't want to know how much I lost in the drying process :)

I was using a bubbleponics/DWC with foxfarm nutes, and about 300 watts of CFLs surrounding the plant. I'm guessing I got around 1.2 ounces. I have also smoked constantly off the buds as they were drying. Probably close to 15 grams worth in the last week or so.
 
Yeah dude my buddy just harvested upwards of 80gs wet off the top of a plant, and it dried up to around 16-20... It's like getting stabbed in the gut when you realize how much weight it actually loses dryng up..

true but at least that was 20g of clean pure dried bud, not like street dealer shit.

i could go through 20grams of street stuff in no time but 20grams dried of home grown with care i bet would last me a long time compared
 
I got a question for ya'll. I am following the FAQ on how to cure with glass jars. It says to close them, let them sweat, and then open them again to let them dry, and then close again to sweat, and repeat for about a week. How long is this generally? Like closed for 2 hours, open for 30 min? Closed for 6 hours, open for 1 hour?

Any idea?
 
Some say open for about three minutes at a time, two to three times a day. . so that's once every eight to twelve hours
